my latest setup

autech catch can with a line to a electric oil pump pumping to sump

second catch can

couple of breathers to it

-12 drain with one way valve on the bottom

extra -12 breather to sump to oil cap

tell ya how it works on the long weekend

Not keen on the sump to oil cap line. Interested to see how it works!

Would it help to put in a hose from the top of the sump above the oil level connected to the top of both cam covers to equalize the pressure and allow oil to flow down? I'm surprised Nissan have this design fault with the RB engines and I'd be interested to see what they say about it. From what I can tell it's only a problem for high revving drift and track cars?

autech thing does that

The restrictor in the block needs to inversely match you oil pump flow. Bigger the pump-smaller the restrictor.

Only way to fix it properly. All other methods are treating a symptom not the cause. Nothing wrong with the rb block.

I had a .9mm restrictor with my reinmax pump. No problems at all with full slicks and 850hp on the track

True that, ultimately though as the engine ages and you want to keep going you have to treat the sympton

so you get that extra 3-5k of track time before refresh

Hey guys I've got an rb25/30det making around 400hp atm having issues with the oil flow I pulled the head off & measured the restrictors they seem to both be 2mm I'm running an N1 oil pump with spool billet gears getting 3bar pressure on idle now on hight revs I'm getting more then normal oil into the turbo intake pulled through from my catch can, I've put a 3mm restrictor on the like that runs to the turbo intake but it's still pulling oil through.

What block restrictors would be the best to use in my application?

Cheers

Spend some time reading the thread and decide for yourself. I have 2 x 1.0mm

Why would you put a 3mm restrictor in a half inch hose? If you have oil coming through there you need to address the problem. Answers are in the thread.

Well the factory hose has a restrictor in it before the turbo inlet so it some what makes sense.

It probly more

like acts as a baffle so the oil drops out of the air and drains back to the head instead of into the turbo inlet.

I don't have half inch hose. It's -10, my catch can in plumed back into the sump so I thought I'd put a restrictor inline to stop it pulling oil from the catch can as it drops down from the top lines.

& I've read heaps of pages & couldn't find anything hence why I posted didn't know it was gonna be a big issue posting lol

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
