Just posting this up for Ben. Apparently was tuned today at CRD, on pulp and ~20psi made 394awkw. Full boost is late 5000ish rpm. Street exhaust, no playing with cam gears yet, more to come later. Will be at the Sports Compact event next month at WSID.

The car is still a 2.6L with tomei 260deg cams

and forged stuff inside.

The car made the power running a trust street exhaust wich is 3" piping with a 70mm muffler.

also the was running 22psi on optimax.

Last time when we put on our 4" race exhaust we made another 30KW at the wheels, so we'll see how it goes later with that on.

Jim did a great job tuning the car.

The car will be at the track for compact attack but currently the car will not be running as we can't afford a new gearbox just yet.

Thanks to the guys down at Hypertune for doing all the work on the car and installing the new plenum and throttle body.

looking good Ben, we just missed you at CRD.

The T88 is a 33D wich is the smallest T88 they have made and is no longer available.

why not the T88GK, because the GK is rated at 1100hp where as the 33D is rated at 850hp.

The car is very nice to drive arounf the streets.

it makes about 120AWKW before it comes on hard. a stock GTR makes 160AWKW.

The turbo looks like it should make 500 with some other little things added.

as for the bleeder system was done by Hypertune.

No there isn't a V-band flange on the turbine housing.

The car is now an absolute freak to drive now!

Freak as in all or nothing?

Nice to drive around the streets as in off boost or do you always drive around the streets above 6000rpm?

The plenum looks like it makes it more laggy as the lack of midrange is bordering on a joke? BRING BACK THE JUN PLENUM

All up very nice for drags shame you wont run it as plenty of GTR's run 10's with stock gearbox

They don't for long though......Nissan 3rd gear + high rpm quick shift = BANG

There are not too many 10 sec cars running stock boxes....Not in Australia anyway. Theo broke 13 boxes to get his 10.78.

Lets not be too critical fo the setup...it is running a 3" exhaust, and it sounds like the tune still has to be fiddled...which if he is goign to be running the race exhaust at the drags and it makes more boost and power as a result of lower back pressure then it makes sense not to spend too much money on a tune for its street setup

Can you tell me what you have done with the air bleeding setup to the header tank?, ity looks interesting, and im curious to what you have done

thats the secret cooling system mod that gtr700 had blacked out in all his photos of his engine.(apart from the extra top radiator hose of the header tank.)

you cant run it like that if your keeping the standard six throttle setup. as it removes the vacume chamber/balance chamber from the inlet.

ie: no vacume take off points.

    • I'll probably be putting the shit box back on the dyno again soon, I want to dial in the closed loop boost control properly. I'll have a camera facing the car/motor for fun too. Just note, there are essentially 3x 10AN inlets going into the catch can and 1x going back to the intake pipe. Most of the time the catch can "return" to the sump actually is the crank case breather, pushing air out.
    • I have the R3C with a Nismo slave and by no means does it behave like a stocker, it ain’t THAT bad. On take off just give a bit more throttle than you would say a coppermix and it’s fine. It will not slip though.
    • Okay. Final round of testing done. Got a friend to hook up a fancy scanner to the car and we also ran some compression and leakdown tests, she is healthy.  The MAF was definitely the culprit. So for future reference anyone with similar issues that find this thread. I suggest the following steps, in order of affordability:   Check your spark plugs for any fouling, replace plugs if they are bad or re adjust the gaps making it narrower (0.8mm would be good). Check every coil's resistance with a multimeter. It can be done by probing the IB and G pins on the coil pack. Resistance should be around 1.4 (+/- 0.1) Ohms Check the MAF. If you have Nissan connect or a good scanner with the 14 adapter it should allow you to see the voltage on the MAF reading should be around 1.1 - 1.2V when car is idling. But if you don't, buy a new MAF from Amazon and test, then return it. (For instance, I got a Chinese one for $40 that was reporting 1.3v on idle). If you still have scanner, you can run tests on the injectors to see if they are working, just remember to unplug the fuel pump fuse/relay and have no pressure on the line. Then listen for the noises that the injectors make. Clean/replace injectors as needed. Once you find the issue and fix, order thousands of dollars worth of OEM parts to refresh unrelated things (Optional)   PS: Thanks to the absolute legends of this forum for the responses and help to someone that went a bit over their head.
