boys and girls, does anyone know what type of bulbs and how many are there on the back of a r33 dash? i want to replace the original ones with led bulbs.

unfortunately it's a bit of a journey to find out myself as you have to take the dash out to have a look...

does anyone have a dash to just quickly check or knows what the bulbs are?? your input is highly appreciated.

ps. if anyone has or can get some photos of the bulbs that would be awesome! thanks.

The R32 bulbs (and generally used for car instrument panels) are 12V 3W bulbs. I have just replaced mine with 12V 5W bulbs for a little extra light.

Without intending to be rude, please try a search for things like 'LED' 'dash' and so on. There have been quite a few threads in the last few weeks with people (self included) replacing incandescent lights with LEDs.

As far as your dash goes, I agree with R33S2 - the LEDs are unlikely to work. Apparently if you cut the top of (ie. flatten the head) they will diffuse light more like a bulb but I can't confirm until Friday.

Cheers.

same as the lights in your parkers, and side indicators on the R33...

can get them at autobarn and all those stores...they're the wedge style globes....they should know at the store which 1's you need, but just tell them its exactly the same as parker globes...

we used 5 in my R33 S2 cluster, and they come in packs of 2 so you need 3 packs...

monza (sold at autobarn) make a triple led with 3 little LEDs on the top rather than 1 big 1...i used that just to spread the light better....as mentioned above, it wont look like a factory dash because LEDs dont spread the light as well, but mine still looks good

    • Hahahahah, look, your not wrong πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and thank you brother πŸ™πŸΌ jokes aside, I haven't driven the car in 6+ years and it's like I'm starting all over again, and furthermore the car is wayyyy more powerful and it's characteristics are night and day different now compared to what I remember. So I'm slowly easing myself back into the groove, the car is literally scaring me a bit tbh.....it feels like it has 200hp more than it does on paper and responds like a cammed Ls v8, and-some! πŸ˜… every single bit of throttle pedal travel and input has instant response all the way to the floor, zero flat spots or labouring feelings, it's nuts. Im shooketh, go easy on me hahahaha or don't πŸ€™πŸΌπŸ˜Š Β  Β  Β
    • If the house has ever been sold before too, they have photos from that etc.
    • I used to do that, but then I got savvy. The benefits of having your phone photos geotagged outweigh the negatives. I just don't publish any photo straight off the phone/out of the gallery/off google photos, etc. If I'm going to use a photo, other than for SMSing to fam, I will always open it on the computer, copy it/otherwise edit it and save down without the original metadata, before using it. For example, posting photos of my engine bay into a thread on here, to show someone a plug or something - I will just screen-cap the section I want to use and paste that section direct from the clipboard into the post. No metadata goes along with.
    • Yes, so it won't work for places with no photos on the net. I would have said that there are no photos of the inside of my house on the net, but....then I realised that my kids' parties would have had bazzillions of photos of the living spaces, kitchen etc put on insta and other shitmedia. So... you can see how insidious it is.
