Yo!

If I get someone to convert my auto R33 to a 5SPD Manual one, would it go much harder? would I gain the lost KW that auto transmission loses through the drivetrain?

Once converted, would I be able to use Apexi Power FC and all that stuff ???

Would it drive and feel like a proper manual?

Is it worth Converting if I want to turn my car into a animal??!?

Thanks

mate it depends on wat ur guna do with the car.. drag, drift or a streeter... drag= tuff auto, drift=manual, streeter = wateva ur comfortable driving

if you convert an auto to a manual it will run perfect if done right. You can use a power fc and everything like that. You can have a tough street/drag/drift car with a manual also have a tough drag/street car with auto. With a skyline i would personally use a manual, way better than autos also alot more fun to drive.

Why did you buy an auto if you wanted a manual?

I agree with WazR32GTSt.

Just trick the auto up with a shift kit and put a decent cooler on it.

The $2.5k you can spend on getting a manual box fitted, could be spent on the engine. General cost to do a conversion(box+labour) is $1500 - $4700 depends on the mechanic and who you know etc etc.

I already looked into this sorta stuff before I bought my car. You would've been betteroff if you just bought yourself a manual in the firstplace.

If want to get back those kw you lose through the auto, spend the money on your motor....

Here are a few things you will need;

Gearbox

Gearbox crossmember

Tailshaft

pedal assembley

clutch master cylinder

clutch slave cylinder

clutch

flywheel

bell housing

center console

dash cluster

computer

some fluid lines

manual spigot bush

It all adds up plus labour, I thought about doing it but in the end I thought about $2500 on an auto rebuild would make it go harder then most manuals (with the same power of course) in a straight line. So if it is only straight line speed you want then Automatics are easier and change faster therefore loosing lees boost  . I have also heard with a manual valve body on your transmission then you can put a PFC on it because it changes gears by itself not the computer.

I also just bought a Davis Craig ATF cooler off of AlexCim in his group buy, I will be installing on the weekend.

Chris

It's easy to do yourself once you know the procedures for each component such as aligning the clutch, spigot bearing, and bleeding the clutch. The rest is bolting it up.

I've never done a manual conversion before. Did it in my garage and all is working well.
