Morning everyone. I'm a cranky farker today (lack of sleep) and been thinking about this whole car situation......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..........GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

Angry Ants. Lol! calling up the workshop today?

Oh my,

Those plates are magnificent,

Now i just need $3300 as they are available.

You can lay-buy plates with a $100 deposit. Might be advisable so that you don't have to worry about someone taking them.

Morning!

Car towed to the workshop this morning. Gearbox getting replaced. Hell yes, can't wait !!!

Smashed box? Which shop and what happened?

Tired and cranky. Had to wash a hire car at 2am because a truck hit a roo which splashed blood everywhere and the stupid dismembered thibg cracked the windscreen!

What's the insurance like with that?

#@RusH_ please make me one of these in metallic white

Looks like the Nissan font, which i have.

Metallic white i don't have, can do normal or reflective white.

Yer u may be getting pulled over for more than just defects lol.

Also while I have you here what's ur opinion on plastidip/spray vinyl?

If i hear you refer to it as a 'spray vinyl' again i may have to dismember you, wrap you in real vinyl and drop you in a lake...

Answer your question?

lol, Plasti dip and the likes are good for not much, for badges and other small things you can't really wrap.

It isn't really even comparable to a wrap as the finish is no where near that of a wrap and it's colour range is rubbish.

Add to that i've heard that over about a year or so it starts to destroy clear coat (apparently this has occured in the US in the hotter states)

What i've come to find is that those people who compare the price of a wrap to the price of a plasti dip are the ones who aren't willing to fork out for a quality wrap and may as well stick with the dipping.

Don't get me wrong, i'd probably use it for a few badges or the likes if i actually had any...but other than that, not intersted in the stuff. I think it's more of a phase type thing that will be something of a cheap option and may hang around in the background of the car modification scene.

1. Reflective white could be cool, any examples of this?

2. Ok plasti dip gives Steve man rags lol. But yer fair enough I imagined that would be close to what your opinion would be of it. I haven't seen it in person so I can't comment.

I'm drafting a bulldog of an email first, because if I call him right now I think I may say something I will regret.

I will call him when I calm dafaq DOWN!

Plus I'm currently doing an objection letter on behalf of a client so don't have much time.

Hey Antz,

Just read your build thread, I think you really need to consider going to a crank trigger set up too. Thats a lot of engine to entrust to potentially dodgy CAS signals! So maybe the delay is good, because it will give you a chance to sort it out before it all goes back together!

This guy. He'd know

quickly give me the low down on this crank trigger setup mate - as I'm no expert.

Rather not say the shop security reasons pm me if you wanted to know.

As for what happened.. long story short... Reverse clutch packs gone due to driveway far to steep.... so now have to keep the car elsewhere which is a bit of a pain :(

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
