Ascot or Hamilton would be my pick.

K/P is nice as well. Depends if you want a house or unit. K/P would be easier to jump on a city cat to go out in the city, Ascot or Hamilton are bit like the burbs, might have to walk a few blocks to find a bus stop thou

Cool. I'm thinking apt. Don't want to deal with a house. I'll add those areas to my list of websearch!

Next is, driver's licenses and insurance. I have an International License. I am over 30, been licensed for 15 years, no points in last 10. I can print out a record to prove it. Will I need to go thru the whole p-plate thing? And for insurance on a r34 GTR it was about $1300 comp $400 excess from JustCar. This was of course using my driving record here, there I have zero record.

no idea, check the license section on the queensland transport site.

You wont have to go through the p plate thing has you currently hold a license. You would have to do the driving test i would assume? it'll be on the site.

not sure if this is the right topic or not, but here goes. Moving to Brissy in Dec. Wondering about areas to look for flats. I was told Kangaroo Point is good, but this is from an older bloke (50's). I am not looking for the high school hang out or anything, just a nice area, nice flat, lower crime level, and some sort of night life. Oh and it needs a lockup for the future GTR.

I have a million other questions, but will start with this..

Cheers,

Ryan

the areas to recommend would depend on what you are doing in brisbane. you here to study, work, bludge? where abouts are you studying, working, bludging etc etc?

I've had a couple of sales fall through, my sister in law works at an auction place so the Cressidaghini is awaiting bids... It's frustrating, it doesn't need much work to make it a nice cruiser again, but it just seems that hardly anyone is buying anything at the moment. I had someone a few weeks back show some interest, but they were disappointed my $1k Cressida didn't come with rego and wasn't in showroom condition. He even asked if I'd provide a written guarantee that nothing would break if he bought the car, then looked offended when I said no and laughed at him.

The Mazda is up for sale too though, bought a new daily and don't have the space for (and can't justify the cost of) having three cars. Well, four if you count the yet-to-be-sold Cressida. Oh, plus the bike. I need more space!

BUY MY CARS!!!! :P

Sif try to compete with the Cressida!!!

Besides, I've heard you fart in yours, and that you eat a lot of curry, so it's not the harmless kind of in-car farting either. I've also heard that you eat babies. So there.

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
