You don't need diagrams or anything. It's literally that straight forward.

You just hook up the red to the +, the black to the -, bung the bulb in. find somewhere to mount the ballast.

If you're iffy, I wouldn't install it yourself, because they are really high voltage (Mega electric shock) if you're not careful. I watched a friend install his hid kit. It didn't turn on. He didin't know if the bulb was blown or if the ballast wasn't working. So get this... HE USED A MULTIMETER on the ballast output....

If you're in Sydney, I have a friend who can install it for you. He doesn't charge much and does a good job. PM me if you like. But i won't be able to help ya till after the 22nd.

Yeah we installed one for a guy who bought it off the group buy... took about 2 hours all up and the results were good. Surprising how bright the units are for the price; also very impressed with the ballast, wiring etc.

If anyone is in Sydney and wants theirs installed - shoot me a PM.

No point trying to mount it factory looking. If you notice how crap the light throw is when installing aftermarket hid into reflector headlights, it goes everywhere. Whenever you drive along the road, all the lights go fluoro coz the light is going up and will glare drivers.

I wouldn't even bother about trying to hide the ballast. If you glare a cop, they will defect you even if they dont' find the ballast

Satanic seeing as you have installed one, can you comment on what manwhore has just said?

Manwhore is right about the ballast; there is no point in trying to hide the unit as the kit makes it obvious it's aftermarket. In the R33, we were pressed for space anyway so we simply mounted it wherever there was enough space for it to fit and still look neat.

As for the light throw; I can't be 100% in agreement with Manwhore - it is very bright and compared to my R34 xenons, sure there are differences but don't forget you're paying 1/4 of the price.

As I said, for the cost of the HID kit, I would not complain about what you receive.

I understand that it is cheaper. But light dispersion is a serious issue and people were adament it was not a major problem which was why i purchased. But if its how manwhore says and the light is going everywhere glaring other motorists and not directed as it should be, then whats the point??!!

Mitch from NBP installed mine, they are bang for your $$$$, very bright, excellent range, dont need my high beams anymore, best money ever spent, finally i can see at night! lol

Like Stan said took about 2 hours to fit, very simple install

Hi Malecki thanks for your reply. Can you please comment on what they are like now you have them installed? What the light dispersion is like? How they are effecting other motorists? Should they be adjusted to angle downwards more and would this solve any issue?

What about the idea of having them installed AS high beams instead of lows?

Also... a pic or 2 of them in operation would be unreal.

Edited by Xizor

They dont affect other motorists at all, i didnt even have to adjust my lights downwards at all, but if you have problems, just adjust them down a bit and they'll be fine

I'll take some pics when i get a chance and post them up

Dont install them as high beams, no point, u want to get the most out of your low beams

Thanks. I am just really worried about pissing other motorists off and/or getting defected by the cops.

Pics would be great, face on and showing how far they go/what they hit.

Are you in Bella Vista? I have a friend in Kings Langly, if you are interested in meeting up sometime soon so i can see the lights first hand that might be an idea too.

I wouldn't install them as Hi Beams only... simply because these take a little while to warm up and get to their optimal brightness... unless you live in an area where you drive around with hi beams on all the time, this kit would be a waste of money.

I'm in sydney. I personally have them installed in my car atm.

you can have a look at them before you install yours and you'll know what I mean. Even if you point them straight down, if I drive up to a wall, you'll know what I mean. About half of the light is focused down.

the rest goes up in a general haze. Also, as I drive along, the fact that there is no clear cut off is obvious. Every sign goes fluoro, and I mean ultra fluoro even though the lights are pointed straight to the ground about 1.5 m in front of the car.

Oh, btw, satanic, i'm not complaining about the light at all. yes, it is definitely brighter. In fact, they're a lot brighter. But i'm just letting the guys know about the very poor light throw. Zixor, you can come and stand in front of my car and walk down the street and see the glare.

The fact is, yes, it helps you to see and makes you think it's safer. but for others, especially on a rainy day, the glare really kills them. I was driving behind my freind following him,a nd he told me how glary it was.

projector headlights are different on the other hand. they manage to prevent the light going up, but still a halogen projector has hot spots and uneven light throw.

Please understand that i'm not telling you that they're all bad. but please, if I can help one person, let it be you. please read this befoer you think about going ahead: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bu...onversions.html

And no, my car is not stuffed. I used to be a freak about lights and i've bought 2 hid kits. Also bought different brands of bulbs.

PS: my car is a sII r33 too.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
