It's only posted an 11.8 as I always do it with full trim (including stereo), so i'm pulling over 2 tonnes down the strip.

It has no traction in first.

Or second.

And when the track cools, sometimes not in third.

Cross the finish doing 220 which should be good for a 10 second pass. I just need different wheels to capacitate slicks, which I refuse to do as it is a waste of money.

how many gearboxes have u gone through? i broke mine first pass with 522hp (has made 605hp before, which would probably be about 700hp on a hub type dyno, going by the local dynos anyway) and threw in a dogbox and ran a 11.3 @ 125mph. I highly doubt 220kmh at end of strip, the drag calculator which is pretty damn accurate reckons u would need 650rwkw to run that speed and thats good for 9's. 2 tonne and 500kw is around 125mph.

I'll see if I still have a slip lying around.

According to the drag calculator:

Weight 2000kg, time = 11.8 means I need 530.4HP

For 800 at engine, ET is 10.3

Engine Motor Horsepower Estimate Calculator - Elapsed Time ET

Automobile Car Truck Motorcycle

Quarter Mile Run Or Drag Race

Note: This is a rough estimate of engine horsepower.

Using the

Engine Motor Horsepower Estimate Calculator - Trap Speed

To cross at 220km/h they calculate I need 870HP at the fly.

Note: This is a rough estimate of engine horsepower.

It does state 650kW, but they are talking ENGINE, not wheel power.

And still have factory gearbox.

WoW...simply amazing,I remember this stag when I join this group but it got to a level far up of anything I've seen or imagine....the only thing that can say(that my envy allows me to say) is congratulations you built the real heck of a ride...

Cheers for the comments. I am just organising the photos for the build thread. Do you guys want it from the start, or just the last lot that finished with what I have now?

It was factory --> fully forged + stereo 1 --> added T04z --> stereo 2 --> painted --> current motor. DO you want all 3 years worth, or just the last (stereo 2 --> painted --> current motor)?

Whatever you can be bothered to post up i reckon we'd be happy with!

Hi,

Here are a couple of photos of my 2002 Stagea 250RS. These were taken 10 days ago on the "Railway straight" of the Hamilton 400 V8 track. The car has 19" ZU2 mags that look pretty trick. I'll take some more photos and add them on the weekend.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
