Folks I need to borrow/buy a radiator to suit the GTR 32.

Days prior to taking my car off the road for the rebuild the top radiator hose was overtightend by a mechanic which broke the top radiator pipe the hose fits over. Fortunately I was standing beside him when he did it and we checked it out, 50%-60% snapped off. However still trouble with getting it resolved. Whilst I have this matter sorted out with the garage I am in need of a radiator as the top hose keeps blowing off, the remaining top pipe is not sufficeint to keep the hose on.

Any help appreciated.

Richard

(especially if you have a Koyo lying around) :(

tuneagent.com.au koyo radiator 53mm (i just had it sqeezed in my already tight engine bay) he is a local dude and has some in stock.

ohh don't go for rubber hoses get silicone both for the top and bottom of the radiator, also check you're thermostat, as well as the proper rating radiator cap.

Australian built R31 radiators are a decent twin core design and fit straight into later model Skylines, I know of a few people that use them as upgrades. $200 should get you a brand newie. I'm not sure if it's an upgrade for a GT-R radiator, are GT-R ones any different to a GTS-t radiator?

Hey, what about the awesome datto radiator huh?

Have a look in the aftermarket too. I know PWR amkes a few different "bolt in" options for skylines that are not stupidly priced.

Thanks everyone.

Goran - couldn't find Koyo on the tune agent site. Seems there PWR ones for around $900. There spose to be good...but a tad expensive for my budget ATM. However Can you PM me with details of the one you got please.

Anthony - the dato radiators a good offer. Not certain if they fit. Youd think so but may try to slightly upgrade due to the opportunity.

Mark. I'll look into it but as above.

Thanks crew.

Thats right - went to JnE Performance Parts & Services over the border and received an as new Rad and install at highly competitive rates. Whilst there was treated to choccy biscuits and cafe style coffee. I highly reccomend this shop for all your GTR needs

I'm still, when $$ permit, get me one of them Koyo Rads. TuneAgents rock!

Ta JnE !

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
