At least the cops were good about it, came & spoke to us politely & explained that it was the museum security that had complained.

The hurry up from the pursuit car was a nice touch though

I also had a suggestion, but it's a bit out of the way - the carpark under Harvey Norman Fyshwick is usually lit at night, and undercover, so safe from rain and stuff. I noticed it once & it kinda looked like a good place for a meet.

I was kinda thinking about going for a bit of a drive on Friday night to scout out a new place closer to Civic.

Well if Harvey Norman is under cover, which I recall it being, then it might be a good start. Not sure if it's open after they shut the place though. Plus I'm not 100% sure on the entry into that place for lower cars.

I'll be out tomorrow night.

Hey everyone

I'm back in town for the weekend and at this point planning to come out tonight I'm look forward to seeing everyone

p.s THAT MEANS PPL BETTER BE OUT AND ABOUT!!! :P

Did anyone recce' H.N.'s at Fyshwick for night time meeting point? Fully agree that driveway entry needs to be handled with great care... But a 'wide angle' to get in or out at night in Fyshwick ( stop it right now, those with dirty minds...) wont be a prob' as there's minimal traffic....

Any other ideas for a new location?

PM me if there is a goer: wouldn't want NS.com or the Commonwhore crew to find out and reck it for us again...

The Mueseum has always been a car meet spot, not just for SAU but for most car clubs in Canberra. It's well known that vehicular activity occurs there on cruise nights/days.

Just a bummer that it's the general SAU site as well.

Hello,

Are you able to provide examples of when and where the NissanSilvia 'crew' has recked it for you / SAU please?

Thanks.

Hello,

To answer your question... read the rest of the comments.

Yeah ns.com guys are good, they don't do stupid things.
Thank you Michele, but I did read that along with Dragon_Silvia's comments. :ermm:

However I want to hear an answer from LTSJayce thanks.

Unfortunately, I'm someone that has been around for ages, and have had mostly good things happen when it comes to car clubs. However, every clubs seems to have rogue members, and periods where everything comes off the rails. Rexnet, Canberra Cruisers, Nissan Silvia.com, RS Liberty, RE ACT ,and even us here at SAU plus many more clubs have had moments of less than perfect judgement. I have had good dealings with the NS.com crew(I was having good chats with three of the lads whilst standing next to the R35 on Friday night; one was a NS.com member who had just had their car towed for second offence on burnouts... but he seemed remorseful enough). Hell knows I'm not a perfect angel.

You ask for examples of when and where NS members have wrecked it for me or SAU? I can't talk for SAU, only myself, but without bringing up old issues, and I'm NOT getting into the 'us vs. them' debate, how's January 2002 Braddon, October and December 2003 Northbourne Ave, Feb' 04, London Circuit, July 06 Kingston....and the memories go on. Please note this isn't a website upsetting me; only some of its members. Does that answer your question? A straight yes or no will suffice. You've been around SAU since at least 2005; you'll appreciated my views weren't formed overnight. Also remember that if it's not on the internet, things do occur. There are a few more times that come to mind, but I would rather remember the good cruises and shows I've done with all of the guys over the years. I guess, in hindsight, my comment may've come off as a little bit biased or even petty. It wasn't intended as such, so apologies to the NS.com crew that may feel hard done by. I stand by my experiences, and can only think I should've added all possible clubs into my statement to keep the mix appropriate. Thankyou for your question. Shall we all move on and get back to Skyline discussion?

Now, back to the problem at hand of finding somewhere more appropriate for SAU to gather without being harassed...

The H.N. idea sounds a good 'un. Anyone else got some ideas? I thought I had a good place worked out, but after having a good look on Friday morning, it's a thumbs down for too many reasons. So, we're back to square one.

Locations, people?

The Harvey Norman Security wont let you. One of em got up me the other day, cos i walked through theyre driveway after checking a warehouse next door and im a security guard!! A large meeting of cars in Fyshwick on a Friday night, will attract most Security attention and then police.

A friend of mine has just bought the Subway franchise at the airport servo, perhaps we could meet there, maybe not this friday night, but in the next couple of weeks.

scott

i was at that servo the otherday, only looked like 10 car parks ??? is there any around the back or something like that ???? plus what would you think about the big carparks further round the corner from there they look big and open and proberlly not attract undue attention????

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
