I've been to troppo twice. Once because my mates who live on the coast said it was an experience that had to be had, and the other time because Darude was playing there.

All I can say about troppo is a meat market. And not even the good kind!!!

I do have 1 experience to share about clubs though. One night 4 of us boys decided to go to The Establishment. We knew that we wouldn't get in on our own so we invited 4 chick friends along with us. When we rocked up at the door the 4 chicks got in fine. But as we started to walk in, we were stopped by the bouncers and told that we couldn't go in. Upon asking why this was we were fed the bullshit, "No Jeans tonight" (2 of the guys were wearing jeans). So I said to the guy, "what about that guy there and that guy there and that guy there who are in jeans". The bouncer didn't even take a look at them and goes, "They're members". I told him he was full of shit so he goes to me, "Watever mate. Private party, fcuk off."

I've never been so disgusted in my life.

/end rant

Ill back ronin on that, theres 1 clown at the door of the establishment that always acts like hes all that when letting ppl in. Time he gets shot.

Though if any of u run into these situations, do what ronin did last nite, run down to under the bridge, make lots of noise, and make the chick im trying to get shit paranoid :(

ROFL you might want to take it back to the dealer you bought it from and tell them the Windscreen demister doesnt seem to work to well :uh-huh:

Go trig boy its your birthday!

I agree with Endorean. The bouncers at troppo should actually learn to do their jobs.

As far as a good place to have a beer, I wouldn't know. I managed to get myself banned... although I'm still not sure exactly what I did wrong.

Damn shame there isn't much else happening on the coast Saturday nights...

I don't know if you've been in there before but to anyone else contemplating it - don't bother. It's one of the biggest and wankiest places I've been to, and your example is just one of many reasons. It's full of old rich men and fat chicks. Any of the pretty girls are most likely escorts/prostitutes.

I went there a couple of months ago, a female friend of mine had met a "rich" guy who wanted to meet up with her there, so her, me, my gf and another one of their friends went there. He turned up late, then immediately said we should all go to another club at Darling Harbour.

He had a Porsche 911 something (looked entirely bog-standard, not even window tints) and only had room for 2 people (back seat only seats 1). So me and my gf said seeya later and the other 2 girls went with him.

We got a phone call later on that night from the girls asking if they could be picked up, because the ****tard decided he had a headache and wanted to go home and didn't wanna take the girls home! How ****ed up is that? And this guy's base of operations is the Establishment. He fits right in.

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
