They are carbon fibre ducts made by Border Racing Japan. I painted them matt black as they had heaps of stone chips.

They are functional in the way that my HKS oil cooler sits behind the passenger side duct, I've also cut a square hole out of the guard liner so the air comes in through the duct, passes through the oil cooler and out the back through the hole in the guard liner. Made a heap of difference to oil temps on the track.

Well spotted, been to heaps of WRX days, one of the more organised clubs in regards to the way they run their days. Got 1st place overall in the Skyline class back in 2007.

Enough of the bragging... :)

No ducting to the intercooler or radiator, doesn't seem to need it. Although a little ducting wouldn't hurt...

omg loving the skylines in this thread!!! i want more moneys!!!!

Heres my 98 Gtst 40th anniversary midnight purple.

That 40th Anniversary looked a lot like mine when I first got it. A lot has changed :)

I think there is even a 40th ann. thread going on somewhere too.

Yeah i love what you've done with yours.

I REALLY want to get some 34GTR wheels for mine i think they look the sex!

Gonna get GTR wing, skirts and front bumper for mine sometime this year.

Not because i wanto fool people into thinking its a GTR just because i love the look and cant afford a GTR at the mo.

No GTR poser badges as that's just an insult and not fair on the people that have actually forked out for one. :P

Brockas - Noticed you have Alcons aswell, which model/size are they???

Hey mate, they are billet Alcon XF calipers off NASCAR cars a few years back.

They lock a tyre at 140km/h.

I'm actually looking to downgrade, they are almost too powerful for my limited driving skill!

That Orange 33 3 posts above needs some serious lowering...

otherwise looks nice...

@Rav3nz...get rid of that Mushroom pod dude..

they dont filter good. Get an Apexi one.

There is a thread somewhere with the results of various pods, Apexi came ontop!

Really? Sh!t it came with the car but it was dirty as so i just forked out $80 getting a new blanket for it.

Like is it actually bad for the car or does the apexi just filter a little bit better? if its ALOT better then ill buy one next pay lol

I had an apexi on my old 34 gtt and really liked it but yeh this came with the car.

if its not a biggie then ill wait an just get my zorst and front mount and change the filter to an apexi later when this one gets dirty.

It's fine. The only downside is the foam ones start disintegrating with age and wear and little bits of foam end up going into the airflow metre/turbo. However if it is brand new it'll be fine for quite a long time, the HKS ones are decent enough.

ok sweet ill leave it then.

ill get a cai too so that should help

Nice work, are they the endurance caliper? Do they take a 36mm thick rotor and 30 mm thick pads?

Do you still run ABS? I can get mine to lock up for a tenth of a second before ABS kicks in and does its thing. Thats running RE55s tyres...

Like the pic in your sig, looks familiar....

    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.
    • also possibly backed up to my filler and shat down it! 🤣
    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
