Glad to hear you just receive it. For those in first batch who haven't received it, please allow till Wednesday. Contact me if not yet receive by then and I'll follow up with Scott at the head office here in Keysborough.

The rotors (as well as most new automotive parts) are always covered in a coat of oil, the reason to this is to prevent rust over long period of storage or exposure to moisture during transport.

You don't need to get it oil free before installation, but give it a good wipe around the rotors with a piece or rag clothing. If you asking a mech to do it, they'll know what to do.

If you're not gonna install it soon, just leave that coat of oil on your rotors until you're ready to install it.

just got mine great work rianto. didnt realise how much of a discount we got. if anyone is waiting like i was. there doing deliveries out my way s.e melb.

thanks again.

let me know how you guys go with them. can hear mine rubbing against the pads. not sure if they do that will beding in or not? still bit of oil on them too maybe thats a factor? havent put new pads on yet either running the pads i had with the old rotors. piece of paper in the box said to replace pads but havent as yet.

jasont82 - I am pretty sure and the dba instruction sheet said that you are supposed to use a non oil base cleaner and clean the oil off the sides of the rotors that touch the pads before you fit them. I couldn't imagine the rdas would be any different?? Have you done this?? If not I would check and clean them before fitting the new pads....

rs73 - received my rotors today. Thanks for organising the group buy. Cheers

I was told by my mechanic that the general rule is you should always replace pad when you replaced the rotors, rotors are too expensive to get scored by old pads that has poor surface, I didn't replaced mine but at that time of replacement on the front, the front pads were less than a few thousands km and there's hardly any grooves on the old rotors, so the pads were ok. I'm not sure if sanding or machining your old pad to obtain a flat surface will work just as good as new pad or not...

Thanks received mine today,,....great group buy to the organisers :):)

Evening update:

I've decided to submit the 2nd batch of group buy tomorrow as there's another 3 transfer coming through today and perhaps 1 more tomorrow. So there will be 10 people in the 2nd batch. Looking at how fast some of you who were in the 1st batch, I'm sure that the 2nd batch will be delivered before Friday...

All 15 people from the 1st batch have received their rotors...

Got mine today... delivered to my office. Damn they are heavy. Ended up carrying them from my office in the city, gone home by train and 15 mins walk from the station... nearly broke my arms in the process, but definitely worth it. Looks good.

Thanks heaps Rianto for organising this. You're a legend mate!

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
