Im also interested entering again this year. Vmax havent posted up prices or entry forms yet but, like every year its the last wkend of November. Check out SCC/ Vmax site for details:

http://www.sportingcarclubsa.org.au/Default.aspx?tabid=79

I had the SkyEighty in last year and had a blast, this year depending on condition, the thirtyfour will make an appearance, but since I dont have time to prepare when car arrives, Don't wont to go repping any companies that havent had a chance to work on it yet ;)

Was poking around SCCSA's website and this was in their August Newsletter:

Small Car Sunday – November 17th – 19th 2006

This year’s format will reflect a slight departure from the formula of past years. As usual, the SCS Committee will be calling for volunteers from all Sections of the Club, and welcome any help that is forthcoming. A brief précis of the weekends events are:

The Friday night cruise will use the existing format, however the starting point for 2006 will be the South Parklands and culminate at a venue in the southern suburbs.

Saturday is traditionally the motorfest component of the weekend. Various options are still being investigated. We will make an announcement once specific details are confirmed.

Sunday Show’N’Shine. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the availability of Immanuel College (they have started major capital works), the SCS committee considered several alternative sites for viability. The outcome is that the Sunday Show’N’Shine will be held at Allan Scott Park (aka Morphettville Race Course). This venue will comfortably accommodate 500 cars, and traders, in both covered and open air areas, and will allow for expansion in years to come.

The event coincides with John Blanden’s Climb to the Eagle on the Friday, and Classic Adelaide over the weekend, however the availability of the two venues made this weekend the only one suitable. Our belief is that the spectator demographics of these other events will not impact on Small Car Sunday – the fact that Adelaide will be abuzz with motoring enthusiasts may actually be a major positive!

Am i wrong in saying that at the last car show held at morphetteville race course resulted in a large number of cars being defected at the event and then on leaving aswell??

Does anyone know if we will be given any "get out of jail free cards" with entry??

Don't know about morphetteville race course, but when it was on at immanuel college there were a number of police cars waiting at the exit. One of the sponsors was done in a big way which was really upsetting to most of us.

Cops gave my car a look up and down, one silvia in front of me got so pissed off he let a ripper of a burnout infront of the cops.

Ive been in the last few SCS and there has been a large police prescence on leaving the event, but never really saw anyone have problems as long as they were obeying the road rules, but i heard about the event no long that was held at morphetteville, i think i was called extreme show and shine or something, there was a thread on here at some stage on the topic where people were getting there cars defected on the way in, and even cars in the car park were getting done. Hopefully if the event is organised as it has been in past years there shouldnt be any hassles.

yep i went to that one, was called autotechnica i think. the cops turned the entrance inside the gate into a defect station, with witches hats and everything, until the course owner told them to piss off because it is private property. they then proceded to set up their little station outside of the gates... f**kin lame if you ask me. these events allow us car enthusiats to have some fun with our cars off the streets and they still cant help but be a hassle.

i put my hand up for SCS

so this weekend pass gets me into the mallala to spectate

and sunday i cant be there till 12 - 12:30 till 3

dont really want my car judged but can be looked @

ok most of my questions awnsered here

That's just absolutely s**t. The Cops are getting too big for their boots & don't know when to back off. I don't know how they expect the Import scene to give them any sought of credit or respect when they continue to pull stunts like this. And the Import scene is a growing one.....

go easy on them theve seen far to many d**k head doing stupid things like leaveing these sort of shows and i mean leaving the exit of them drifting it sideways only to hit a tree or worse another car they get called to that and ask the P plater (normally) where you come from and he say oh thast show n shine hows it look for the sence

if we all leave sensibly and dont have things hanging off out car and sounding loud you should be ok

go with a car that looks illeagal and expect to get it looked @

The cops were actually at Autotechknika for a few certain people, yet obviously can't just ping like 2 cars, have to make it look like their after anyone :D

Last SCS, cops just nodded at me in the SkyEighty, it was low and loud, they didn't care.

hopefully the 34 gets the same non-attention from cops.

got a couple funny idea's for display if anyone is interested?

    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
