Has anyone re-trimmed their doors and knows how or has a mate who can do em for me cheap, or at least someone who can show me how to do this. I can recover a door, but the nissan doors have a tendency to not come apart into sections that can be retrimmed by a novice. Is there something special that needs to be done to trim the fabric bit that is like black suede or tweed etc.

Also Seats? has anyone done this. I wanna take em out and do it myself cos I know its gotta be possible. or at least if i can make a replica seat does anyone know anyone who can put the new fabric back over the bare seat?

Any info would be good. leads and mates numbas is also a bonus.

feel free to PM

Peace

RiaZ

P.S does anyone know what a set of 4 spacers is worth 25mm possibly

OK - this may sound dodgy as - but phone up either casurina or canningvale prison. I'm not sure if they still do public.... They have a guy in there who does upholstry, the best I have seen, He did my friends car and it is really good. Its also cheap. You prolly won't wanna do it - but its a suggestion.

hmm lemme see, these spacers bolt onto the hub and then they have their own thread so its like a hub extension. I am confused about the less thread.

doh, sorry fellas i have never seen these things before. so anyways i posted it in the 4 sale for $100 for all 4, dunno if it is even close. it might sound like this to some people,.

Holden commodore 1988 $45000 stock standard. LOL

i hope its not too high a price

NO_RSPECT,

My brother recently made a nice set of 17mm spacers for his 180SX so he could fit 4 pot skyline brakes behind his 18 inch wheels. These things are almost a work of art, they turned out sweeeeet. :(

Ill try and get some names for you but basically you can get a big round aluminium biscuit from a trade metals shop (i think this is $160 a metre, but you'll only need about 2 x 20mm pieces). Then take it to an engineering place and get them to lathe it all up for you, cost my bro $40.

Then you need longer wheel studs to match of course, wide spacers without long studs is infinitely stupid. Nismo, ARP and a couple of other places sell these.

You could go to C-Red also, i think theyre selling some. But its alot cheaper if you do the leg work yourself.

nah like i said they have their own studs coming out of em so you bolt em on and then you bolt the wheel to the spacer, like a hub extension if ya feel me

Anyways thanks guys,, but Meggala has bought them off me. for $100.

nice

lata

I got a msg about the re-trimming. I need to get it done cos I wanna be all purdy for the show.

hehe

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
