Nah not at all wanted to kno for a race I have on sunday against a 93 hatch back civic with basically a stock prelude vtec engine says he wants to race for pinks guy just basically hates skylines and wants to prove to the world tht his car is on par just wanted to kno how to do it so i could warm my tires up a bit. All my post were connected to having my car ready for sunday on the tracks thats not normal driving for me. Completely serviced here myself and wanted to kno if I had lost power anywhere, I also see we have alot of smart@$$ in the forum who kno nothing but always have a smart comment to add jetr-32, munna1, r33 racer and to u sorry no kid here just a man wanting to make sure his ride is in excellent condition to race, busky2k, limpus and the rest of the clowns. To r31 nismoid I think your question was genuine so ill let you kno tht yes i am serious from your post i thought you at least would realise its for a race. Love my ride not the kinda person to run her to deathjust want her at peak performance for what stage I am at.

Ummmm i think you will find that most people know alot more than you actually think on this forum. so i would be very very wary of what you say.

ummm and in response, I think it would have been the best idea to actually mention your intentions along with your questions on your first post of your thread.

Also i think it may be best that instead of making 3 topics that "May be related" to your needs, that you have just made one instead. As then maybe you would not have got so much flaming related to your desires.

Oh and why not clarify that you love your skyline by posting a picture of it. and how you look after it :P

Cheers

why are u racing for pink slips? if he wants to race for pinks because he hates skylines, it shows everyone a lot about his maturity levels. Id just look down on the fool and say "pfft" (meaning, i have no time for immature little wankers like him)

bahahahahbahahahahah

some ppl have no idea do they.

i never get sick of reading nob threads.

my new thread title.

when is it best to change gears.

how do i use a clutch

how do i select drive in my gearbox.

is R in my auto for race mode.

well I CHIRP 4TH IN MY CAR.. so am i sickest?

IF YOU HAVETO PROVE A SKYLINE IS FASTER THAN A CIVIC... YOU MUST BE A FOOl

Yea I know right. Same thing I told him but he insists that his civic can beat mesoImnot gonna take his car but I will take some money from him. Im gonna race him fora few hundred. His civic isn't stock he changed over the engine to a prelude engine, has a nice exhaust or it might just be the can never really looked sounds nice though, says he gat headers and he removed a few things like ac radio and says he is doing 400 hp which I know is a lie. I just have to shut him up once and for all. You have a chirp in fourth damn how much HP are you doing and what all do u have in it?

OMG so if i remove my electric mirrors/windows/antenna and rear and front speakers ill be able to drift 5th? please man thats one of the dumbest things iv even seen someone post. I mean i am a tool by trade but you my friend are a master tool..

the power i have is less than most of the people on this website...

like i say to other tools who wana street race me... Go to calder, or the local drag strip, record a time, its he beats u than he wins, if he is slower in his ET then he is a heap of doggy doo

Daboss - seriously man, the guy who wants to race you is a wanker - and i suspect has the brains of a 5 year old. and like lthlrb said - if he beats ur time on the drag strip then he wins, otherwise well hes just proved that he is a tool....

    • If the gases flowing in those two tracts had the same properties, you could maybe use such broscience. But the exhaust has a different composition, different normal density, different actual density (because of different normal density, and mostly because of the massively higher temperature), and different viscosity (again because of much higher temperature). Consequently, all of the fluid dynamics parameters that matter, that you calculate from these inputs, such as the Reynolds number, friction factors (for wall friction) and so on, are all incomparable.
    • And we shall have to presume that Canada is the same?
    • In the US almost everything is E10. It can't exceed 10% by much or fuel systems have trouble adapting. At the same time because MTBE, MMT, and TEL are all banned they need as much ethanol in it as possible to boost octane.
    • I was mostly jesting. In my experience (and probably only my experience) the R34 GTT physical airbox space is actually too small to flow the amount of power it wanted. By sealing the box, I made it so it could only be fed by the ducts themselves. So you can seal it up and get nice cold air which IS good, but at a certain crossover point: More Hot Air > Less Cold Air I don't think you're at this point. In my case merely ducting the hot air intake with a very focused set of ducts counteracts the fact it's in a V8 engine bay. More cold air obviously best. The solution looks great.
    • Nah, the OEM CAI pipe is still installed behind the bumper, it is about 5" x 3" oval at the engine side, tapering down to a 3" pipe behind the bumper where it gets all the ambient air it needs Engine side of radiator support OEM intake pipe "oval hole" that is right in front of the filter My OEM NC1 CAI pipe: From NC2 onwards, below pic, they come slightly smaller at 2.75" diameter with corrugations and a resonance chamber to reduce intake noise, lucky for me my NC1 has the bigger noisy one, LOL   Basically, the "sealed" airbox will just get ambient air from a 3" pre filter intake tube that is the same size, 3" as the rest of the intake pipe post filter, and if a 3" intake isn't big enough to flow enough air for 150 killerwasps then there are other issues The whole intake is basically the same length as OEM, but it is now about 30% bigger from the airbox back through to the new intake plenum than OEM, and the intake plenum is port matched to the head And the intake is now about 30% bigger than my 2.5" exhaust, so the suck, squeeze, bang and blow black magic should be fine, well, to my uneducated understanding of fluid dynamics anyway Talking the the guys at MX5 Mania, it may even make a few more killerwasps as the intake isn't sucking hot air, especially off idle or when in slow traffic when it would be sucking hot air  As for the difference in IAT, I haven't logged IAT yet, as I don't currently have a OBD2 reader, but I will have a play with my thermal lazer thingie next time I take the car out to sèe how hot stuff gets under the bonnet near the intake filter prior to installing the air box, my "assumption is it has to be much better after the air box is in and sealed up compared to what it is now The aftermarket "performance" CAI elephant in the room: Aftermarket CAI intakes typically have the air filter tucked up behind the bumper, with a 2.5" intake tube (the OEM intake pipe is actually about 30% bigger than the fancy pants "aftermarket" version.....WTF), and you need to remove the bumper to service the filter, which is a PITA Like dis:
