I would love a

GT

T

style one - can anyone even do a digital one (like the style of FunkyMonkeys earlier) .... I will print one out and see how it looks on the back of the GTT.

  • 2 weeks later...
this certainly died in the ass quick... anyone got any contacts?

Yeah, so much talk from so many people who simply couldnt produce.

Left alot of us high and dry.

If they really couldnt do it why step up.

oh well,

Yeah what happened??? I have a S2 33GTS and the gts25t badge on the back is falling off. I know heaps of ppl who would be keen for these.

Was the initial idea to get a metal badge made up or just a sticker? I reckon a metal badge would rock, but it would be heaps east to get a sticker made up.

i can get it laser cut in stainless or whatever metal? just need good simple designs.

i could get the black shadow backing plate and a polished G T and S or red S ect?

it would be alot of time phucking around but i could get it done. how much are people expecting to pay for these things?

I would expect say $30 tops .... if you did a run of 30 badges of each, I am sure you would sell them .... I want a GTT badge, not a GTS one (for an R34)

obviously there are alot of people who want these things,

Is there ANYBODY out there that can actually make these things instead of just gobbing off??

We all want them, so who can do it?

Who wants to make a bit of money?

Sik14, 30 bucks is a fair price, i guess, is this something you can do?

Look forward to it

:P

We need to be realistic when we think about how much these GTS or GTT badges should cost. Just Jap have genuine Nissan GTR badges for $95 and they are a mass produced product.

We would be looking at a limited production run of say 50 to 100 units which would mean that a price in the $100 to $150 would be required to just cover the costs involved.

This is if you want a product that is of the same quality as the factory unit and not a cheap dodgy brothers job. If I am going to put a GTS badge on my car it would have to be of the same standard as my GTR badge.

:P

Why are we trying to make them when there are so many cheap versions out there. For me this is not a priority, so i cnbf looking, but will be interested in buying, if someone (keener than myself) finds a decent one for a fair price.

$100-$150 is rediculous :D

PS: Nissan also want $2500+ for a geniune R33 GTR fmic, will you also pay that price? :(

there are cheap GTR and Silvia badges around for $20-$30 that are every bit as good as the real thing (I have had them on my S15 for years) .... and that price includes shipping from goodness knows where, profit for the manufacturer, selling costs, then profit for the end seller .... in real terms they must cost well under $10 to make. I realise we are talking about different volumes here, but seriously no-one is going to pay over $100 for one of these!

If anyone can organise a GTS badge that looks like this one then count me in.

If you can make them look like this I'm definately keen.

Not really a fan of the ones around at the moment, the S looks too crap.

i'll take two (GTS ones) if you can get them made ...

PM me if you work it out!!!

i'll look for one of my autosalon mags ... the one with the wide body white gts in it ... he had custom gts badges ... maybe the person who did his bady work would know where to get these from?

You manipulated my artwork you terd...haha!!

yes, yes I did :( .... would you care to fix it up so the bottom T is 3D, and it doesn't look as dodgy as I have done? If this thing doesn't get off the ground I will just get some nice vinyl stickers made up with chrome edging and stick them on .... saves the car getting badged down the track too!

You manipulated my artwork you terd...haha!!

Hey Man, heres what i came up with playing around with your design,

No offence, and all credit to your work, Sik14 was looking for a design, maybe you can send him this?

What do you think?

I want one in red and one in black!!!

Great job!!!

    • Oh dear. The panel beating needs to be done before the filler work. Do you have a photo of the dent before you started? Hard enough to not flex and only hit the high spots?  What do you mean it was just temporary?
    • Can u check this way it works for power supply?
    • These coils draw 10amps that what i read online
    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
