ill keep this as basic as i can so not too much info is leaked out but ive heard different stories from different people and thought i needed to set things straight.

the first car went past and hit 'it'. i was the 2nd car and i saw it pretty clearly and steered clear and pulled over to help out the people in the first car. everyone knows what happened to the 3rd car.

everyone is fine.

cheers guys, and thanks to everyone that helped.

p.s. we went to check it out today and people had been there before and stripped a few parts off it. the deck and equalizer, e-way tag, steering wheel and battery.

A bad night for all involved.

Let me say this once, anyone talking specifics will have their posts deleted. Skylines have a bad enough image in the general publics eye, and eventhough the best efforts were made to avoid what happened, it did happen, and after shows like TodayTonight etc running almost weekly "hoon" stories this can easily be misunderstood and cast a bad shadow on us as a community. The only thing to come out of this whole event is that it doesnt matter how safe you think you are, you are not safe and anything can happen out there. Be careful. We dont want anymore "hoon" stories on the TV targeting imports.

No one was charged with ANYTHING on the night by police as the police agreed none of the drivers were at fault and we were lucky no one was hurt any worse than they were (all parties are now fine).

The only image this will bring is bad, which of course is some publicity we all dont need (notice all comments that are too direct have been deleted from the public areas).

Cheers

-Steve :nuke:

Edit: Imports dont need any more crap from the police/uneducated public than we already have so please keep in mind what ive said above.

Good thing that everyone was sticking to the speed limit.

i hardly think that censoring the issue is a good idea for future reference?

it there any particlar reason

no one did anything wrong as stated..

Easy - because the public wont believe what happened, and will think "bloody hoons" etc

We arent censoring the whole issue, hence this thread. The group made a decision and we are sticking by it - no details on a public forum. Surely you can understand that?

yeah i thought the same thing. To me censoring makes it look really suss...but thats just me, if you censor it you get like joe said, people spread stories that may not be true instead of knowing the facts.

understood

but why any details at all then?

obviously some people are completely oblivious and now you've piqued their curiosity

not making waves just trying to understand :(

    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
