Roy
Actually, is there any interest in doing Sandown with the Maserati Club? Id rather bust my car doing Sandown then Calder, but either way i will be following the masses Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/135934-wrx-track-day-calder-sun-22-oct/#findComment-2529949 Share on other sites
NickR33
I was going to do the Maser day Roy... but then again I have never been round Calder so that could be fun too... either way I might go with the masses and see if I can't talk some resident trackspert into coming for a ride with me and teaching me how to steer Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/135934-wrx-track-day-calder-sun-22-oct/#findComment-2530070 Share on other sites
MissJuz
I think i'll come to Calder, i'll be on street tyres but it'll be fun anyway. Might get kev to show me the ropes again if he is around. I learn't heaps off him last time. ziad
on the entry form it says entry fee=$140, anddriver training $120. what does that mean? and what are the differences between. or is it either or both at the same time? thankx Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/135934-wrx-track-day-calder-sun-22-oct/#findComment-2532517 Share on other sites
phunky_monkey
It is one or the other. Driver training allows an instructor to go in the car with you, but you're only supposed to go about 80%. Normal entry is by yourself and full speed. NickR33
are they good instructors, is it worthwhile to do it first then next meet normal on your own drivin. i have never been on a track hence the questions. with the WRX club it is compulsory that you do the driver training if you have not been on track before... its simply another group that's made up of first timers.... and you go out with an experienced member of the WRX club in the passenger seat... then if your really nice they may let you go out by yourself towards the end of the day... its good fun... do it;) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/135934-wrx-track-day-calder-sun-22-oct/#findComment-2533133 Share on other sites
Bec
Driver Training is NOT compulsory for first timers, it is just something extra that the club offers to build confidence and give you some tips. It is however recommended. Someone who has done it all before should have lots of information to offer you on your first track outing. Track lines/speeds/braking points/cornering/etc. If you are comfortable with your driving ability, you don't have to do a DT session.
