Hey NSW Boys n Girls!

My other half and I are coming to NSW for a few days on our way to NZ in February. Anyway its my boys 30th birthday :sorcerer: while we are over in Sydney and I really need organise something rememberable for him. So I was wondering if there's anything that would be really cool for an absolute car nut in sydney for his birthday?? I was thinking something car related like a track day or something (if anyone has an R34 GTR they want to lend us to go on the track? haha *jk*) or failing that anything you boys reckon would be really cool for your birthday ..... i need ideas.

Hugs

Sorry, I should have given you more info! lol

www.udrive.com.au it's the only way I know of to get on the track without your own car.

I haven't done one of these days, but I'm sure there is a forum member who has who'll be able to tell you what they are like.

sure are slim :w00t: arrive late on the 1st of February and we leave for new zealand on the 5th .... pauls 30th birthday is on the 4th so kinda wanted to do something special - i have some mates that are in sydney but their idea of something special is les.bian mud wrestling - so i dont think i'll be asking for their help :w00t:

haha cool, if you guys have a day where your not busy, let me know, wouldnt mind meeting up for a beer and saying G'day

yeah everyone seems to rave about the bridge climb. something i though agh boring but because everyone has said its really good i might have to look into it further :spank:

We should have a day free for a cruise - we are there over an weekend. Might have to car whore tho .... no plans to get a rental in sydney no real point as most of the time our friends will play chauffeur haha.

We are staying at a frineds house that apparently over looks the harbour.

theres this special forces boat which goes through the harbour and out through the heads at over 100 km/h

few mates did it and they loved it.can't rremember the name ,but can find out if you want.

Does it have to be car related?

I was thinking if you are gonna do a bridge climb then maybe also add the harbour 'power' boats.

My gf and i went on one of those when we took a relo into the city.

We had a ball. was the best $40 i spent.. that day. It goes for about 40mins and the one that we went on, the 'skipper' took us wave jumping out on Sydney harbour. We headed out to the Heads and did some spins on the open water. this one only goes at about 80km/h. Was a blast tho.

Think of it like a roller coster on open water where ppl are spraying you with water!

Make sure you dont wear a see through top if you go out cos you do get wet and you do get cold. :D:P

nah doesnt have to be car related just something he'll remember.

power boats sound good  maybe i should wear see through top - that'll make it something he'll never forget  haha

    • You know how your car rolled through a fence in your last jacking escapade? Scissor jacks increase the likely hood of that sort of thing happening immensely!

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
