hell yea its about time people got keen for a drag night!!!!!!!!!!! it will be good to see a few other skylines at the strip. and a cruize to air or towns would be great as well. and 8 seconds will be a wild car to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm easy hey - Just got it back on the road.

Hand built the RB25\30 all myself. Its done 130kms so far, and nothing has seem to have broken.

Jono

nice been keen to see this car too, what time sunday arvo and where, anyone else got time to join in?

any one interested in a meet and great night at palmyra dragway? the next test and tune is on the 11th of feb (friday night) and the 25th of feb (friday night) should be some fun to get other skylines out there! they are running twice a month every month till the end of the year so should be a good year of racing.

sweet that two so far!!! hopefuly john will go, have your done enough km's to wind boost in yet to your 30/25det? and also nur33 hopefuly will join and show the local v8's what a turbo six can do!!!!! it will be a big meet as well so should be great fun

Looking at coming up for a scenery change. Hows the work and people up there these days? Is the eimeo pub still awesome? is slade point still slade point or has it been turned into some random waterfront goldcoast wannabe place yet

Eimeo Pub is still cool to chill out for a feed and a few drinks.

Slade Point is still the Ghetto... Feels like you're about to get shot every time you drive there...

Cruising scene is dead... But we should bring it back!

why does everyone say the cruising sean is dead and yet we/ i try to get one going, every time no one answers or is keen to get together but will complain about it. (not directed at your robi33) just saying. let get one organised track day- airlie beach run who care's let make it happen. would be even good fun to organise a dayno day. i know that could be easy organised :)

Once my car is going ill be driving my car like a $10 hooker, its a pain in the arse that mackay roads are f**ked and the police will defiantly pull us over if they seen a bunch of skylines driving around cause thats what happen last time with me all be cause of the stupid f**king idiot skyline driver in front of me decided to do a burnout and i got booked for it even though mines 4wd and doens't do them, f**king gaylord cops. But yeah would be keen if everyone can behave themselves.

No offence taken, bro. It's cool. We say it's dead because, compared to only a few years back, it really is...

I'm keen for a decent cruise with you guys. It'll be friggin' awesome. Just gotta map out the path so we don't go down Malcomson Street or something. Coilovers + That Street = Sadface. :(

Get your car fixed, Ben. William, should add me on Facebook (Robert Whittle) And Callan... Stay classy. =P Lets organize a drive!

i know where your coming from with the roads and coil overs, there's bloody crap roads up here! I have had a new front bar sitting there for about 7 months and dont want to fit it due to the access to drive ways and road conditions, would rather look like a bogan than waist money. although its giving me the poo's so ill be a lier soon and fit it. if we can organise a drive day it will line up with a race night at the strip and i might be able to get adrenalin to let us do a dayno arvo there (at a cost) minimal i hope for shits and giggles, then on to the racing. all dick head actions will be frowned upon as this will only give the local police more reason to annoy us for no reason. so prior warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont be a nob if you come and join in. ill check dates and get back to all who are keen and see what I can come up with. sorry for bad spelling im at work so have to write fast ha ha bloody supervisors are always around the corner.

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
