Should be good to not spend that money on the new g'box if you don't have to.

Went for a drive last night with the new oil.. no results. Same as before, owell at least i gave it a shot before blowing the money on the box.

M3 would be nice :)

If I got rid of/something happend to the skyline I'd get an E46 M3

.... Well actually I'd probably get a 33 or 34 GTR but anyway...

Was thinking of getting one anyway, but not real practicle and a bit to expensive

I want another sports car but living in north queensland really isn't the place for one, having to plan out your route everytime you go for a drive gets pretty annoying after awhile. Can only go to certain servo's sucks arse too. Getting a 4wd so i can go anywhere and when it floods every year i can actually go places and wont have to worry about pothole. f**ken Mackay roads are shit. :)

Most annoying thing would be slowing down to a stop in order to get into a driveway here and having some dickhead sit up your arse and blow the horn at you. Had some bitch in a captiva or some POS do that to me getting into my own driveway when there was another un-occupied lane right next to me she could have quite easily drove around or merged lanes but nooooooo has to blow the horn and get up my arse.

Bogans in an old cruiser wagon were right up my ass at auto corner when I was doing 60 then went past and stared at me as they were doing it.

May have boxed them in to stop them speeding but. I'm just a nice guy stopping people getting speeding tickets though :)

The amount of people that look at me like I'm retarded then do 80 in a 60 zone makes me wonder.......

See this shit all the time, some people don't deserve a licence

Great news for me today, a mate in Sydney just bought a V35 wreck so i'm getting the window motors and door lock actuators at dirt cheap.. and a drivers side bose door speaker since mine crapped itself. Yay.

Anyone know a guy named Grame? Just saw him in the Opposite Lock 4wd accessories shop wearing one of Ben Earl's GTR shirts. Btw i want one of those.. looks like a good round the house weekender shirt

He just came back into the shop and i had a chat to him briefly, think he said he works for Viking?

Is Ben's name on the shirt? If so I'm not sold at all :P

Think I have found a colour for my cam covers, It's pretty similar to the colour I already have but its a little nicer and has a little more metallic through it. Will see If I can get a good photo later on

    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
    • This IS something you also have to configure in Haltech (or at least I did in the past when going from onboard-to-ECU map sensor and an external MAP sensor in haltech land).
    • I'm hoping it's something as simple as the ECU is looking for an external MAP sensor, but he is trying to use the onboard MAP sensor.
    • You won't need to do that if your happy to learn to tune it yourself. You 100% do not need to do that. It is not part of the learning process. It's not like driving on track and 'finding the limit by stepping over the limit'. You should not ever accidently blow up an engine and you should have setup the ECU's engine protection to save you from yourself while you are learning anyway. Plenty of us have tuned their own cars, myself included. We still come here for advice/guidance/new ideas etc.  What have you been doing so far to learn how to tune?
    • Put the ECU's MAP line in your mouth. Blow as hard as you can. You should be able to see about 10 kPa, maybe 15 kPa positive pressure. Suck on it. You should be able to generate a decent vacuum to about the same level also. Note that this is only ~2 psi either way. If the MAP is reading -5 psi all the time, ignition on, engine running or not, driving around or not, then it is severely f**ked. Also, you SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING IT WITHOUT A LOAD REFERENCE. You will break the engine. Badly.
