hmm hopefully I can do around that. did they ask about speeding fines????

just wanted an up to date check on people in WA really. being 20, and not having the best driving record doesnt help. got quoted $2332 a year from JUST CAR, with around a 2100 excess. almost shat myself.

just tell em that you look after the car, that you are an enthusist and that it has an alarm and ALWAYS garaged

Just cars will rip you off bigtime (although they will isnure anyone at a price)

jdfnq think insurance will vary between a coupe and a wagon??

I'm 31, pay $900 a year for mods, never garaged with a speeding fine in the last year lol

Area also makes insuranve variable so...

hmmm hopefully they are nice to me. Ive only had three fines. unfortunately they were big ones and all happened in the last 6 months. so I have 1 point left.:yes:

i think im in trouble

Just Car Insurance aren't that bad. Only downside is you dont get to choose your repairer (they get 2 quotes and go with the "most competitive"(?) quote) -but any repairs do come with a guarantee (i know its a long time but not sure how many years from memory).

I pay ~$900 a year through just car insurance. excess is a killer at something like $1400 but fortunately I haven't had to use that yet (touch wood). I'm rating 1 and I'm 25. (was same price when i was 24).

Shannons dont insure under 25's so I haven't yet gotten a quote from them. Might try soon since they seem to be a good insurer. My only concern with shannons is that they may be too picky with where the car is garaged (or not) and what mods it has. I've found JCI are very easy to deal with and dont ask 5 million questions before insuring your car. I dont want my insurance company dictating where and when I drive my car... :)

I'm with Shannons, soon to do house and contents with them.

Seeing as I'm the 66yo, with all my points intact, I get it pretty cheap.

An important factor is whether the car is securely garraged and also your postcode. 4272 is a secure area.

I told em the mods the car had when i got it, but i havent told em the mods ive done to the car since owning it,

there is no reason why i havent told except for the fact that im lazy and cant be bothered calling them i will do it eventually lol.

But remember i havent had any accidents nor have i lost my license and ive never been done for speeding

ACV30 Camry Sportivo with a 1MZFE V6 in front of a 5 speed manual.

Makes 147kw at the fly wheel, tops out at ~5500rpm in fifth at ~220-230kph

Not sure on the 0-100 but definatly will pull a 1/4 mile time around the high 14's, maybe low 15's, which is pretty quick for a Camry IMO.

With the manual box has some hardcore traction issues in the wet, with new tyres it frys 1st and 2nd, spins 1/2 of third too. In the dry, will comfortably loose traction at 60kph after a clutch popping.

Only gripe I have with the car, has really strong oversteer, yes, oversteer, tendancies on high speed sweepers and also under braking the rear comes out a bit. Understeer on hill climbs is also non existant, apart from corner exists in the wet when the wheels spin and the car just floats, but thats controllable.

Not too bad on the fuel, ~9's on the highway and I do around 15's city, but I drive with lots of RPM.. :P

Definatly reccomend a V6 manual Spotivo to anyone that is looking for a very decent performning, comfortable, NORMAL family car.

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
