Dunno what the exact rules are, but I've heard that full cages are illegal, but 1/2 or 3/4 cages CAN be approved for road use.

Whether or not that is true, the things they would look at when determining a cages legality is whether the cage will impede the occupants getting out of the car in an emergency. So intrusion bars incorporated into the roll cage are a definate no-no, and anything else that may block any part of the doorway. Another would be crash safety i.e. if can you smash your head on it in a collision? No worries on the race track when you're wearing a helmet, but on the road you'd be looking pretty worse for wear...

But remember the cops will use it as an excuse to canary you regardless of whether it's legal or not unless you have it fully engineered and documented as road legal.

can you get roll cages amd keep the back seats still??

No , must be relicensed as a 2 seater.

If you get caught with the seat back in and the copper is a bit cluey , then it's yellow time..

Cheers

    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together

    • It's all about the socialisation of the dogs. In that first 8 to 16 weeks of age they need to be taught to be nice and friendly with everything. That way they generalise it to everything. That said, some days you'll just never beat genetics, but 99% of the time dogs chasing cats is purely lack of socialisation, and then the chasing part can turn into prey drive.
