Hi all,

Jamez previously organised a super sth east car wash successfully.

Well, due to the other day dust rain, my car looks like it has just finish a rally run. Also due to water restriction, i'm going to take my car to the car wash tonight and thought i might invite some of you out for a small car wash meet up :), around 10pm tonight!

The location is Car Lover (I think) on Cheltenham rd near conner of Corrigan rd and Cheltenham rd Keysborough. Though the location is set, i'm willing to change location as long as it suit everyone best.

I'm going to bring my own sponge as i've heard a thing or two about the brush that most car wash places have.

Anyway, its beautiful weather, also i'm going to SAU show and shine tomorrow even though i'm not displaying my car, i'll still wash it and i might win the best present car.........in the parking lot .

If anyone willing to come and have no idea where this is, give me a yell on 0423856410.

Cheers

West

That probably won't be much of a problem, I don't think the Cheltenham police would travel to Keysborough just for kicks.

I live around the area for 15 years now, never had any problems with the local police. Dont' do STUPID thing and you'll be fine or if you do, don't get caught. Show respect and you get respect back.

I've lived locally for about the same amount of time, I've only been pulled over once while coming through the junction for an RBT.

There's too much crime around here for police to waste their time with people in cars ;)

10:00pm?

The wagon needs a wash, if I'm still awake I might come and say Hi.

..and I believe it's called "Parkwash".. not car lovers

good to see you're finally catching on. :(

Springvale police work the area, as do Dandenong.

Cheltenham Police don't come anywhere near here, it's a different district.

They don't even operate on the same frequency (or at least they didn't pre-digital) so they wouldn't be able to respond to any jobs in the area even if they wanted to.

anyhoo, I didn't make it to the car wash, I was watching Ice Age 2..

I washed the car this morning instead.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
