dead32
im in syd, qualified mechanic own a skyline(i think this is an advantage) ive also installed manifolds of this kind before, just a lil hint, get hold of all new head studs for the manifold + all new gaskets. also potentialy get some new braided hoses, depending on the manifold, studs+ gaskets are a must for good practice Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/145131-manifold-installation/#findComment-2718333 Share on other sites
MANWHORE
it's pretty piss easy mate, just take your time and remember that lube is your friend (when isn't it?).. make sure you've access to new gaskets though If you think about it, any car work is piss easy in theory. E.g. undo the bolts, take the old one off, put the new one on. But in practice, that is never the case. e.g. recently, I installed a dump/front pipe which I bought off someone recommended. It didn't fit straight on. Other things needed mods, the pipe needed to be modded a bit with an oxy torch, and a grinder etc. There's a good chance that you'll break studs. The new manifold might move the position of the turbo ever so slightly (that's what happened with my dump/front pipe. It looked good, but being in a different position meant it wouldnk't bolt on) you'll have to redo the exhaust and top side piping etc. So, nothing ever goes as planned, and nothing is really ever easy Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/145131-manifold-installation/#findComment-2718353 Share on other sites
warby
here is a good guide for installing the manifold which i followed the other week and i also installed a q45 throttle body as well, it was a shame that i found this guide after i broke a stud. http://www.livesockets.com/quoc/rb/6_intak...ifold/index.htm also there is lots more discussions and information about these manifolds at http://forums.racebread.com/index.php?board=47.0 hope this helps Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/145131-manifold-installation/#findComment-2718704 Share on other sites
