I was joined in 2003 by the user name of @(*_*)@ and same as nissansilvia.com., then one day I updated my email and all the password, but I totally forgot about it, therefore I couldn't login and I'm using this user name now. Anyway, I've owned my R32 for at least 6 years now, and I also find most the guys I knew back in the day are no longer here, may be Maxx is the only one I know. Sometimes when I checked my old topic, I found out all the people have updated their photos and informations too, everythings really changed from the last few years.

Man I miss the good ol days when at least one of my GTRs was always working.

Sold my R33 GTSt back in 2000, & in April of 2000 bought my 95 R33 GTR with

only 13000km from Prestige Walkerville. Raced at the first Drag Combat in May 2002

when the HKS race GTR was there. I was pulling 10.7 back then. Last time I raced the car was

April 2003 with 9.45. Almost 4 years ago!!! Is nearly ready for the haul interstate to

have another go.

The 97 GTR I bought from Douglas Dinan back in 03 when I had the R34 Vspec is

almost back on the road as well after another engine problem (hope this is the last time)

Keen to hit the hills soon.post-538-1168602298.jpg

I could of been an old skool member if I could of found the site.

Munro told me about the site when he had his evo,r34,r33 x2 back early 03 or 02 but I couldn't bl#*dy find it . All I could find was the nsv one and a few other's but munro said that skylines australia was the only one worth looking at . LOL

Took me 3-4 years to finally find it .LOL

Better late than never I surpose

I'm not quite bowls & cucumber sandwiches age but, I did buy Hippy's (Hiep) R33 several years back & if your wondering he moved to Sydney not so long after that.

mmm....p0rn!! What sort of times you aiming for Munro with the new set up? Is it running on methanol??

We have changed our plans slightly, originally we were only going to run methanol & slicks & shoot for the outright time records, but due to the lack of track here (& a new baby in our lives), the amount of times I can travel interstate to test the car will be limited.

So, the car is currently having a huge water to air intercooler fitted where that polished intake pipe is now, & we are going to tune the car on petrol (the good stuff of course) & run on Radial tyres.

As the car has standard body, no chassis mods, still uses normal gearbox(not air shifted), & normal clutch(not slider), the car can run in Street AWD class at Sports Compact meetings. Petrol & radial tyres compulsary.

It will take time, & there are many variables (time, money, breakages, luck, etc), but the goal is to run the GTR to 8.50 @ 165+ mph on radial tyres. If we can do it, that will be the world record.

Private testing at Heathcote is the next step. Hopefully that will be happening over the next month or so.post-538-1168734329.jpg

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
