We have official relationships with them. Unlike the army cadets who have a sponsor unit, we just have the RAAF in general. Maybe just RAAF Amberley but even they can't/don't spare us much.

Can you get gear IanB or know anyone that can? We are looking for bush/camo gear mainly. We're still handing out oldschool greens gear and Vietnam packs.

AFAIK my unit (105 Mdm Bty, 1 Fd Rgt) allready sponsors a caddy unit, but I will have a chat to the Quatermaster next time im up that way to see what can be done. Alot of the new stuff is in short supply even for the actual Army itself, things like the Australian badge that go's on the velcro strips of the new cams are worth their weight in gold at the moment, however being a caddy unit im not sure if you guys even wear them? As to feild gear, I will see what I can do, I dont have a whole lot of weight so all I can do is ask, there may be some old stuff from former soliders who have left the army that we can give to you rather then destroying it. I make no promises however as I play no part in the decision making process.

I should also be able to put you in contact with the appropriate people to talk to about sponsorship, however I dont know how its going to go, the whole Army vs RAAF thing, I suspect they will say go ask a RAAF unit.

I can also get you unmarked stuff from the uniform store, provided your willing to re-imburse me the costs. I will just have to run it past my superiors to make sure its all legit and ok. The stuffs pretty cheap, we get it at discounted rates.

Send me a PM with more specifics about what your after and how much. I might be able to help you out.

well thinking of it not sure because i may go to my uncle in bowen stay there for a year for free whilst im applying and pick fruit in the seasons

because you can get $500-$1000 a week doing that

once i finish school

I used to live in a place called Shepparton (NON ARMY RELATED) and its pretty much the fruit salad bowl of the country, companyies like SPC (now ownded by Coca-cola) ARDMONA and GOULBERN VALLEY fruit allll comes from there, i practically lived next to the orchids and my parents think fruit picking is an easy allways needed job, they picked cheeries etc, not too bad.....sometimes you get paid by how full your bins are, sometimes hours

but......yes....its a good holiday/weekend job

I made 3000 dollars in 6 and a half weeks when I was at kapooka after I joined the reserves... I was only 17 at the time, it was quite good money, cash in the pocket and tax free, no need to declare it to johny. I also got about a grand worth of free gear, boots, pack, webbing etc and learnt a few things while I was down there to boot...

lol can i possibly mention you will get many love from the ladies ya?

When they seen your biceps and your fit army muscles heh heh

Ultimate WIN

I want my 2 minutes back.

Hahaha i just skipped all the mumbo jumbo army talk, :D called selective reading me dear!

I work at RAAF AMB. There is a small no. of skylines on base obviously most of them are 33's. AFAIK I'm the only 34 owner and if my mate still works at 410 he's the only Stagea owner.

Can you be more specific in what you want and what the gear will be used for as I know the guy in the field kit store. I lean over the counter and help myself sometimes.

Awesome. I might see you down there. I'll be there probably next weekend for a bit. Ive seen a couple of R32's near the Transit block (cadets stay there on holidays) or near the blocks near the Airmens Mess. What do you do at Amberley?

Gear we are after is usually webbing, packs, assorted pouches, belts, DPCU clothing (cadets get issued shirt and pants but usually use old Greens jumpers/jackets/hats), scrim. Just anything for going out bush really. If there is a way of buying or obtaining old hootchies, ground sheets, poncho's or even an 11x11 tent, that would be really really awesome.

I'm a Supplier. I don't live on though.

Geez I could've helped you out with a fair bit of that gear as there were some changes last year.

PMs are better for more detailed talk.

Nice story though Prego but 'Ants' (cadets) can be a bunch of dirty lil people especially the things I've heard.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
