Checking Turbo's Locally

A bit of local voicing,experience wise,required here,lads and ladies.

Most will send their turb's away to places like GCG etc for rebuilding etc,but I just need my two stockers checked before selling them off. Call me a nice guy who doesn't want to see the new buyer get anything other than a decent set of twins. It seems like they're in good condition,with minimal or no shaft play,but I'm no pro',so I'd like them checked over locally if poss'-easier to talk face-to-face,drop off + pick up,etc. One well known place I emailed outside of ACT said they wont do a written report-covering their butts,which is fair-but I just want the peace of mind that they're OK before eBaying/For Sale sectioning them off...So,who's used where around here? Pricing and quality of advice? Feel free to PM me with pricing or if you got crap service,rather than flaming the shop on the forums...

Have you tried any truck places - a Denco diesel or suchlike. They deal with turbo's all the time.

COOMA DEISEL in Fyshwick - Top Quality shop and advice, you will be surprised. Just down the road round the corner from Peter at Autotech. Their great. Just picked up my Turbs from them on Friday. Got advice one screwed the other good. ($30 transport fee to GCG ). They are in tight with Garrett and Mike at GCG.

The babe on reception is a bonus

If you ebay - add a third very good HKS 2530 (stuffed one thrown in for free).

Cooma Deisel done mine as well. Looks like a good job, but I don't know turbo's.

Anyways, felt real pro compared to other shops i've been too. And I have a feeling that chick knows her turbo's.

i think the best idea here is to visit Cooma Deisel. i've never been there, so i cant vouch for their work, but i've heard good things about them.... i also know that Dave at Gas Tune in tuggers is experienced with turbo and high powered cars. worth a look i reckon, great bloke as well.
