Thanks peeps for the kind words! The photos don;t do the colour justice as they were taken on a overcast day so not all the colours and pearl showed through!

But i will have it out and about soon enough to see in the flesh!

Damn your very brave! I would never contemplate such a project. To many factors that could possibly go wrong. Outside especially! So hows the final finish? I mean, is it show quality?

Finish is no bad at all considering first attempt ever and was done outside in the elements. Just needs the final cut back of clear coat and a good ole buff!

looks the goods.

door handles need to be sprayed also

Yeah considered that but was in the too hard basket!!!

Tah John and Moanie

Yeah i sort of made it sound worse than it is... as said the finish has some belmishes in it but they should come out with the last cut back and buff. Should bring it up to a glassy finish

Was just about to ask how you managed to contain the mess. But noticed you had tents up with plastic sheeting, go the home booth. Did you use any ventilation when spraying to extract the paint floating in the air or was the tent open at the ends? What gun did you use?

Did you put plastic on the floor aswel?

Also did you put plastic on the insides of the tents? (the metal and fabric parts)

Yeah had plastic down of floor for majority of time, but was gravel anyway so didnt really matter. You dont get that much overspray at all.

No plastic on inside of tents just sides with $1 drop sheets :sorcerer:

Yes had ventilation going thru with holes and drop sheets at rear and half one at front. Once we sprayed pulled front and back up to allow some air through.

looks good mate. I've seen a paint shop in japan that could learn a bit from that effort. the were just painting out the front of their shop on a busy road next to the auction house!

well done for having a go anyway :P

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
