hun........ we were mindin our own business, cars were turned off, parked well inside the sectioned area, not annoying no1, people were enjoying themselves, crowds were liking the cars...

oh well its done and happened now. let the organisers do their thing. nothing any of us can do.

Is it illegal to stick your middle finger up at a police officer (without actually saying anything)? :D Just wondering.

few people got a bit loud at one point towards the police...... thats kinda when my mates grabbed me and said we're leavin lol

theres nothing wrong with trying.. we'll never know untill we try

true hun, sorry for sounding crabby about it. just after wat happened thurs nite, i mean...... ok im used to seeing the police as we drive out of autosalon, but having them come up2 us durin an event was just a bit too much. so im just a little pessimistic at the moment!

i wasnt even there n i'm pissed of lol..

but nah that was just too much i really think if afew forums got together and protested in a decent number we can make a slight difference

This is the reason I didn't go...although I thought the problems would be as people left the event.

The problem I see with what the police have done here is (although they might have been within their legal right to do it) to deter enthusiests going to organized events. Imagine if they decided to put this sort of presence at an organized drag night at a drag facility. People would not end up going to those and instead move more to the illegal street drags which the event is put on to prevent. I thought the idea of these organized events are to give enthusiests a legal outlet for something they are passionate about.

This is becoming beyond a joke, next thing you know, they'll be outside your house waiting for you..

No one was doing anything wrong.

Hmm yes they are, the new SE TMU cop shop is at the end of my street and boy those cop cars do no where near 50km/h down my street (This is even in their private vehicles BTW).

You try driving your car in fear that you just reverse on the street and will be pulled over by some smack tard with a chip on his shoulder. The reason our types of cars are targeted over rust buckets is plan and simple.......

The cops are scared that they won't be able to keep up with us end of story. Plus that cops will look at the car and go nice car, hmm drawn attention now better meet my quoter for the day!

It is BS my misses could be driving my car and the coppers won't even look twice, if I am driving it I get looks of contempt and being labeled a hoon when I am not.

I am car enthusist who takes pride in their car and hence the reason it has been off the road being re-sprayed for the past month. Till the heat seattles down from the young drop kicks who decieded to show their mates look I can do a burnout in a shit box VS commonwhore. We are all going to need to be carefull about how our cars are presented and make sure we meet the legal requirements. If we meet it them the coppers have nothing to pick on. (BTW That pevs a copper of more than actually have the satisfaction of giving you a defect) If you want to get even, make sure your cars are legal for the street.

but it is just that. boys will be boys. the current generation will most probably do it for a few months/years then they will grow out of it, but then the younger kids will start doing the same things.

i remember when i was younger that i did similar things and other boys did the same. i went back to my town and saw all the kids that were in year 5/6 when i was in year 9/10 doing similar things and going to similar haunts that i did. you cannot stop them, the only thing that can be done is providing them with legal and safe opportunities to be a hoon. which is cheap.

what did it cost the ppl at noble park maccas, nothing. so i dont think they will be willing to spend $120-200+ to go on a track 6 times a year. maybe a carpark every weekend for maybe $10-30 might just do it. but even then you will find kids that would rather hoon on the streets.

a prime example is drugs/alcohol/ciggies not allowed before 18, but how many ppl 17 and under drink? how many parents get ciggies/alcohol for their under 18 kids?

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
