Horn Playing Up

hey guys

my horn honks when i turn the wheel about a 1/2 turn either way but wont toot when centre and will go off again when a full turn is done.

atm the horn is disconnected so yeh, i need to get it working, any ideas???

they work by earthing a circuit within the wheel, something on teh wheel is touching the wire to make it go off

what wheel is it, have you remove the horn centre if its aftermarket, and check that the wire isnt worn and is connected correctly

clock sprin, is what allows you to turn the wheel several times and still have power to your horn etc, picture a mozzie coil type peice of wire behind your steering wheel... in rough terms. That is probably what the problem is...

i have the standard wheel, air bag in it, dont know how to take it off? the horn cover that is,

wasnt to embarrassing, when it happened just opened the bonnet and disconnected the siren part of the horn.
