Well, to try to combat the turbulence created down stream where the wastegate enters I left a .250 lip along the leading edge of the pipe. This will create a low pressure area across the mouth of the wastegate pipe and help with the turbulence.

Although my fabrication skills amount to zero, I think the idea of leaving that small 0.25" (6mm) lip is a good counter-measure to the wastegate angle creating turbulence when the wastgate gasses meet the exhaust gasses. It might even mean that the angle of the pipe where the gasses meet won't really create too many flow issues at all...
