Ah Will, you know me mate, I love thy bling

Yeah, between your wheels and my engine bay we've got it all covered  It sounds reasonably tough for a 6. A bit loud though.

Thanks Brenton. I haven't forgotten about the BB PM either mate!

G'day Joel,

Getting pretty close now mate. It's running. We've still got a dozen or so smaller tasks to complete (mostly asthetic) and we 'may' end up having to swap the exhaust housing & wheel over if it shows in tuning that it's too large.

See attached pic, taken 2wks ago.

Ha-ha yeah mate that A/C install is a classic! But it works. Yeah good to meet you too. The wheels on your 33 look awesome!

That's the mean engine bay you have going there, very impressed looks s@#* hot

whatsisname :

Your engine bay looks rather tidy.

I will be taking my car to Shaun once its all back and running smoothly. I need to sort out the fuel econnomy ( or lack of) and a bit of more loving for my engine.

It doesnt help having shit coil packs in missing so much that the raw fuel just goes out the exhaust. 127km at 1/2 tank. This is from filling it up on sat morning and driving it maybe 4 times since then.

Thats insanly bad. I pull that out of the first 1/4 of a tank. :S

A couple of things can stuff fuel economy. O2 sensor and injectors.

I bought a new o2 sensor no change in economy (~350km's to a tank), bought injectors fuel economy perfect again.

Wow that was quick your already back for good?

Job prospects got better here? or didn't like brisbane?

Just too hard to leave the old lifestyle we know behind. Have many friends here and decided we just needed a break. Job prospects have been picking up quite considerably in adelaide also...

Its a bit weird but hey...

big exhaust leak - cant get past 12pound, need studs replaced. so its a turbo/manifold off job, new oem gaskets etc. will get shaun @ boostworks to do it in the next few weeks

damn; although I knew it had an exhaust leak however I didnt realize it'd affect it this much. oh well.

umm, a little fiddle with the safc (everything was 'pretty off'), set fpr correctly, 160rwkw with the boost not being able to hold and dropping to 8pound I believe. boost guage shows it going to 0.5Bar and it feels as strong as previous, perhaps better?

Booked in for the Fri 16/3 to fit the adjustable exhaust cam gear wheel, do the manifold stud work etc, new gaskets and all that, & a proper retune. Got quote, its a decent price so I'll be happy with the end result Im sure.

youve goto do what you feel is right no point going to sydney qld where ever to make 10-15k a year more if your heart isnt there and your not happy

Youd easily spend that on living expenses anyway. Adelaide is so much cheaper to live.

yeh mine has a afm prob atm, it might be cause the intake pipe is too short and causing turbulence and afm is havin a heart attack but will find out 2moro lol

Was that yours in the dyno room this afternoon? Were you in the camo gear?

I was looking at your engine bay thinking there was a lot of stuff in there. I was hoping to see the beast have a dyno run.

I was wearing the Barca football top and cap. Sorry, I should have said hello. That was my white R32 GTR that Troy was working on.

    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
