Hey all,

Just like to know if you guys know of (or have experience with) any good panel/paint repaint place, I need a couple of good places to get a quote (its going to be covered by insurance) and give to my insurance company. It can be close to the city or close to sunnybank area but must be close to public transport as I work in the brisbane city and mainly stay in sunnybank hills.

Thanks in advance. :)

if you want top quality work and money isn't a problem, you can't go past Exclusive Auto Centre. They're in the valley/newstead, just near the James street.

Exclusive Auto Centre

28 Chester Street, Newstead

Phone Nick, 0414 248 725

3852 2539

www.exclusiveautocentre.com.au

they are official repairers for maserati, ferrari and porsche and always have a lambo/ferrari in there

the work is 100% excellent, i have had work done there on my skyline (rolled the guards) and on my corvette (fixed the roof)

tell him that you were recommended by Warren with the corvette and he will help you out

and obviously its very close to public transport you could even walk from the city, or worst case catch a bus to the brunswick street mall and walk 5mins down to james street. or catch the 470 to james street etc.

anyway mate, good luck

cheers,

Warren

Spook's_Skyline: Dont need cheap man, its going to be done as an insurance job. I just need someone good to fix it and fix it the first time ;) Can you give me the full name of camerons? or is that the full name of the place? :(

WazR32GTSt: thanks for the suggestion I will look into organising me car for a quote there :)

Cameron's Body Works

708 Boundary Rd Coopers Plains QLD 4108

ph: (07) 3277 3475 Panel Beaters &/or Painters

i have taken all my noninsurance work there and they were excellent

when some clown ran into me, i asked suncorp if we could use camerons, but they werent on their list, so used some other mob

Edited by Spook's_Skyline

petal drove into a pole at junior footy

i pulled the front bar off in byron

got them both fixed at camerons (they did my original sparkly paintjob)

then got my guards rolled there as well

the clown running into me wasnt my fault, the rest was

also, sent decimate there for his 180 when he smashed it up when he first got it

Still havent had time to wash the car and take it around for a quote yet.. it seems to rain everytime I want to wash me car :(

Another question does any have any experience with the mob below:

Bignell Panel Repairs Pty Ltd

993 Fairfield Rd Yeerongpilly QLD 4105

I've been told by the insurance place to get a quote from there.....

Strongly suggest Scott at Custom Colours. Great attitude and workmanship. 52 McCarthy St, Salisbury. Ph 3277 8777.

Cameron's also fully resprayed a Pajero for me and I'm happy with that too!

Tell him Benny Wooster suggested you and I'm sure he'll try and get the work from insurance. Scott colour changed my GTR 6 years ago from start to finish, and it was a superb job with not one question mark over the finish, and remains perfect to this day. (pics attached)

Cameron's also fully renovated a Pajero for me and I'm happy with that too! No faults in 3 years.

Errm they quoted my last car after it was stolen...came up with ~$1500 repair bill. I laughed and got a requote with another mob ~$8000 repair bill.

Doesn't say much for their quoting ability....blind freddy could see the car was gouged by a screwdriver getting in, plus the elleventy thousand other marks it had from being thrashed through the bush and getting the spoilers ripped off.

Hrmm.. ok thanks DAN. Cost wise I really dont care as the insurance place is paying but I want a good job done the first time.. not like the initial place I went to where I went back 9 times and they still f@#ked it, adding more damage to my car as an "added bonus" too yay :\

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
