i just dont understand why everyone is annoyed at the vic police

they want to catch out people with defective vehicles

they want them off the roads and want to send out a clear message

after the noble park crap they have had enough and are over it

so they goto places were people who likely drive defective vehicles hang out. chapel st is probably another good target of this

you want to catch fish, goto a place where fish feed

its logical really ?

i agree some of the adrs and emissions stuff is out of whack and could probably do with a recent update to some of the rules, some of them are probably 20 years old at best and are no longer concerns etc.

not sure how it changes it, using the same mods on private property

the only thing i can think of here is if your car blows up, dumps oil, does stupid shit on public roads, the epa and vicroads dont want your crap on the streets endangering other drivers & pedestrains. things like big wings, oil cooler kits, etc would come under this i guess.

Another disgusting display.

If Vic Police think this is the way to go about operations, then i think Noble Park was just the beginning of much larger and possibly much more violent scenes.

Its only a matter of time before hatred rises to a point that it should never have reached.

All time LOW for Victoria if people were being pinned after making an effort to get it off the street.

But all of yous keep saying how great the vic police & tmu is! lol yous are all sheep and will realise why im not so compliant to the law! Coz of low acts like this is why i just dont care about the law! :D

yes, but you cant just make a problem go away, you have to provide substitues

these people are trying to do the right thing by going to drag tag, now tell me this paul... would you rather have someone drive around sedatly with a modified car, and once a fortnight go to a controlle dplace like dragtag and have a thrash, or have some idiot just tear it up everywhere they go, street racing, doing burnouts, etc.... i know the answer to that and so do you, so do the victorian police, they promote activities for things like drag tag, because its a positive way of keeping both parties happy, the car nthusiests can have a good old go with thier car, and the police dont have to worry about controlling hundreds of idiots doing illegal street racing...

to ambush something they promote is the issue here! not driving an illegally modified car

its only going to wreck what they promoted! people are just going to go back to street racing and street burnouts in more inconspicuos areas!

Not to mention that i see at least 5 cars with no either or all of the following, driving around with no problems:

No brake lights

No tail lights

No reverse lights

No indicators

Holes in the exhaust

Excessive smoke

Rust in all sorts of the wrong places

Bald tyres

and many other things

And as i mentioned perhaps the cop's wouldnt cop so much crap if they didn't hand out bullshit defects and you only really had to worry about whats wrong with your car, not what's not wrong..

They shouldn't be sitting there waiting... I'd never go back there again if that car was still mine, i'd go find some nice quiet back streets somewhere and have my fun there, don't have to worry about being hassled that way

last time i checked driving on the road with illegal mods = illegal

why is it a special case because you drive it to a driving simulator thing.

what different does it make? the mods are still illegal

Nah, the burnout pad out the back.

People are going there and taking it off the streets, and this is the sort of response to positive behaviour by the "hoon" demographic.

Regardless of whether or not the cars are infact illegally modified, the fact police are sitting there, waiting to defect cars is very immoral, wrong and going against what needs to be done.

Its driving illegal events further underground, its creating more hate and a bad attitude towards Police when it otherwise shouldnt be that way.

Its just two mobs throwing rocks at each other. Waiting for one to break ranks.

And it will happen, mark my words i can see it coming and its been brewing since the "hoon" laws were introduced.

The police are slowy getting more and more cocky like i said would happen.

Another sad day

Yeah, but what about the old rusted up old shacks with bold tyres, leaking shocks, 3 wheel nuts holding on a wheel?

Whats more of a safety concern:

A: Late model jap import that has a FMIC, Exhaust, coil-over suspension, slightly bold 235/40/18's on the rear?

B: Sigma that dips heaps of oil, rust through out, f**ked shocks, 20+ year old springs, good tread 165/75/14's all round?

Hmmmmm??????????

I think you mean

A: Cocky young c**t with a flash car, 'hooning' around tearing up the streets.

B: Just another aussie battler - with kids that need a roof on their heads and dinner on the table.

Which one u reckon will get a fair go?

The fact that they are sitting outside legal events and even going into them (eg bbt and now drag tag) and defecting cars when those events are set up to take 'it' (hoonage) off the street is low no matter how you look at it.

fark i'm sick of these ghey threads.

illegal = illegal

peroid...if they use their brain and go to spots where they might catch ppl...they go home early and drink some beers...thats what i would do if I was them...screw driving around all night looking for them...its a drive though for illegal mods.

thats the dumbest thing i think u have ever said Paul.

What happened in Noble Park had nothing to do with Defective Modified Vehicles... Who said that the large number of cars there were even modified?

From what i saw there were a lot of wankers in std Aussie Domestic shitters and a few imports... there was a guy doing a burnout in a f*kin van ffs.

Targeting "modified" vehicles has nothing to do with hoonish behaviour. The worst behaviour i have seen on the road has always been by dipshits in ADM vehicles...

Its logical to target areas where people are commonly doing something wrong... not where people are going to do the right thing. If they want to push people further and further underground because they can no longer take their cars to a place which promotes doing stuff legally in an area that keeps them out of the public then they are doing a fantastic job.

Word will spread about what happened like wild fire... people will now stop going... that business will soon go under and people will start hitting all the usual spots and try find more to go and do it.

Emre, we are all gonna end up like the battler if the cops keep targeting the one with the nice car! Dont you see the circle of life?

do u really think u have any right to comment on anything? Ur a tool... u were proven to be a tool and you will always act and be a tool...

and if i get defected its my own fault

i have illegal mods on the car

and i accept that

i wouldnt post up a thread

saying the vic cops are low

because they had a defect station up somewhere

it would be like me robbing a shop

and going to jail for it and speaking to the news

saying that its unfair and abuse of power

it just makes no sense. if you no illegal stuff or mods then who cares if they check your car for defects, let them and then drive away and not worry.

totally agreee wth u paulr33.....the only problem people have been defected when their cars are legal. ive even heard of cars being defected while being towed.......which is absolute bs.

Hey champ

We all make mistakes mate, lets just hope we can learn from them.. It's very rude to bad mouth someone you don't know - not on.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
