SK, I get your point about having a progressive throttle response, which makes complete sense when you think about it. Kind of makes me wonder why I didn't put more thought into it before :)

Question is now, what do you do to get a more progressive throttle response?

I guess it mainly comes down to the turbo and tuning. I'm guessing its better to go on the smaller side for turbine housings?

Nice footage Roy, I've watched it about 10 times now :P

Go the 26/30 :ninja:

Actually for th etime being i think better supension and brakes will make my car quicker then more power. So may have to start selling off the engine parts to pay for the suspension/brake upgrades. RB20 can provide enough power for the lighter R32 GTSt to punch with 300-330awkw GTRs

Thought i might bump this up for those that are interested in a cheap R32 GTSt Club Car.

I have now shelved the idea of running a bigger displacement motor and more power. I have recently spent a small fortune (not to some owners but was to me) on new suspension and brakes, Suspension was a huge success, i hope the new Brembos firm up brake feel then the car will be all sorted in the suspension and brake department.

For the time being with the new suspension and brakes im reasonably confident the car can lap within 2 seconds of the real quick GTRs. its so much easier to drive a slow car fast then a fast car fast....and with only 230-250odd rwkws the car feels underpowered now, so very easy to drive.

So if your planning on a club car then stick with the RB20. It is now tempted to strip all the weight i can out of the car as i now have a half cage (added weight...SHIT!!!) and an RB25 gearbox is about to go in (arghhh more weight again)

For the time being i dont see the 15k on engine and turbo is going to make the car that much faster, sure faster but not 15k faster...and the fear of a plug killing a motor etc

The 324mm upgrade using the std caliper is a great value upgrade and had been working well. I decided to upgrade as its been 5 years since the last tidy up of the braking system. So thought i would throw some new braided lines, master cylinder and perhaps even brake booster (depends on $$$). While i was at it i thought i would upgrade to a nicer caliper and rotor setup in anticipation of the car carrying a little more weight and more hp.

Also i dont have ABS and i hope that with the more rigid caliper and larger rotor that i can have more confidence in teh middle pedal and hopefully lock brakes less.

But testament to the old setup is that its still on the car and i have had the brembos layign around for over a month now. It works well and im in no real hurry to swap them off the car and find teh Brembos make no difference >_< ... :(

I am now running re-valved Tein RAs with what i think are custom springs. Though i havent really looked under the car to see if it is still using the 10k and 8k springs that they came wiith, I think they are, but need to check. Car rides great with the way harder springs.

thanks for the reply roy,

i have the full sk package and am very happy with how it behaves on the street during "spirited driving" just thought id ask what uve gone to as my pos is just about ready for the track and i think once i get out there i will be looking for something harder. Wether i get SK to rebuild what ive got a bit harder or go a jap route like u with revalving and custom springs i dont know.

I also plan to have a cage long term so that will allow the use of slightly softer suspension as SK has said ( ithink :))

thanks for UAS number, they dont have it on there website, and with a a garage in the family i know why :D

    • Agree with Rob. I recently did mine and replacing with a brand new unit made the most sense compared with rebuilding my existing gearbox.
    • Are you suggesting that the kit did a cheap and nasty job of just jamming the wheel in between other things and caused the misalignment? I mean, we normally do this with an integrated crank trigger wheel, not something bodged on. It's not 1995 any more.
    • I mean, given the number of BMWs you own their tolerance for improper torque is rather low. The number of torque + angle spec bolts and non-reusable bolts in one is nuts.
    • Atmospheric vent requires something that doesn't use a MAF for load. You would need a standalone ECU for that.
    • Hey all,   I’ve got an RB25 with a trigger kit that includes a crank wheel, and I’ve hit a wall trying to sort a timing belt tracking issue. The belt either rides right on the edge of the cam/crank pulleys or walks slightly forward once the engine starts. It tracks okay-ish for a moment, then creeps right to the edge—and honestly, it’s stressing me out.   I’ve spent hours removing and reinstalling the belt, double-checking everything:   Tensioner setup is good, checked multiple times Idler pulley and washers are all in the correct places Followed the RB25 timing procedure step-by-step     The only thing I changed was the rear crank washer—I swapped the OEM one for a Neato version, and it made things worse. The belt now sits even more forward than before. I’m beginning to think the crank trigger wheel itself (from the trigger kit) is the issue—poor design or slightly off dimensions.   What’s strange is that with the previous belt setup, it actually ran fine for a couple of years—around 4,000 to 5,000 miles, even with hard driving and high RPMs. But even then, the belt was always riding right on the edge, and I know that’s not ideal or safe long term.   At this point, I’m debating whether to:   Machine a few mm off the crank trigger wheel to bring it back in line, or Replace it entirely with a better-designed unit     Only thing is, I already have the Cherry Hall sensors, bracket, etc.—I just want to replace the wheel only, not the entire kit. Anyone know a brand or supplier that sells just the crank trigger wheel on its own?   Would really appreciate any feedback—especially from anyone who’s run into this exact issue and found a reliable fix.   Thanks in advance.
