hi all. just wondering if theres a master that doesnt have a built in proportioning valve in it.

basicly i need to let more pressure go to the rears.

ive aftermarket calipers front and rear. and the front is working to hard. i want to instal a hydrolic bias valve instead of the factory one. to evan out the brakes.

any info apreciated. cheeres

sweet. thanks guys. yeah theres an alloy cap over it. i thought it was a press in plug. but as i was drilling it it fell off and revieled an 8mm hex screw :whistling:

but it will have to wait while i get new front discs again! i thermaly shocked them. big massive crack down one of them from over heating. uber gay!!!

so some nice alcons are going in. and lol i dont know where id be with out my weekend job at autobarn. coz this is turning quite expencive :P

cool. quick update. the valve is removable but... with no valve there fluid pisses out the tiny little breather hole thats inbetween the outlets. ive got a s15 master that im gonna chop in half to see whats going on inside lol.

Front brakes working too hard ? I think that equates to rears not working hard enough .

When I was researching master cylinders for Skylines I did read that rear line proportioning valves were set differently for Z32's and 240 SX's . It may pay you to find out what our spec S14's and S15's are using and maybe substitute one of theirs . I did see somewhere that some S15's had a 1" BMC (should have BM57 stamped on the blind end) so if its bias is different (one would imagine an S15 would have substantially different front/rear weight balance) it may be the solution .

Cheers A .

Another update , whilst ratting 1st Gen Liberty bits for the RX I found that they use a Nabco 1" BMC with either 4 or 3 outlets and they appear to be a single cylinder body ie no proportioning valve . There are also available plugs so that any unused BMC outlets can be sealed safely . In the app I'm using cars could have 3 or 4 outlets so I went 4 to cover all the bases .

These Liberty BMC's have outlets facing down and towards the offside of the bay so the horizontal ones would be the ones to plug for a two line Nissan ABS type car .

I can't be totally certain these interchange with Skyline BMS's at the booster but the mounting system looks identical .

Cheers A .

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
