Anyone know if & where i can get this front bar for a 34 Gt-t? Im pretty sure its a Top Secret bar. Also looking for sides & rear bars to suit, doesn't have to be Top Secret as long as the lines go together. All suggestions with pics welcome.

lol. it has a top secret price tag too, so I say start saving those pennies. :( !! (and of course the obvious point, it wont fit a GTT).

DOH!! Ive seen a similarish front bar on Gt-t's, not quite as big in the FMIC area and has slightly different sides.

So no one out there has made a Top Secret copy for a Gt-t?

hahaha that yellow 34 is Frankies old car !!

geez thats a good lookin car! Hahah!

g_force, my top secret copy front bar was supplied, painted and fitted by Carmate out at Cabrammatta on Liverpool Rd (Hume Hwy) many many years ago. i think it cost around $400 supplied, sprayed and fitted.

a few qualms,

-they had put on this farking uber ugly rice mesh. reminded me of alot of Cyber kits on CRX's. that came off quite quickly.

-the lip didnt swoop low enough, whilst it wasn't as aesthetically pleasing it was quite functional going up and down gutters, speed humps etc.

-its fibreglass, as most kits are, so it was flimsy and as such air went everywhere you didnt want it to go. ie. into the front mount.

if i were to do a GTT again, id get an R34 GTR front bar kit from East Bear or an Impul front bar. i remember wanting to copy/buy/pillage another GTT owner who had an Impul front bar on his. looks great.

Also, Ed on this forum had a GTT with a top secret front bar similar to mine, whilst it was abit crooked it swooped abit lower than mine.

Fark it, save your money and get the real deal. R34 GTR. as low as $55K on carsales these days and you have the Yen at friggin 95YEN to the aussie dollar!!! time to go long Japanese.*

Thanks for the input frank but the front bar u had on the yellow Gt-t is not the exact one im after, its only similar in sum aspects to the real Top Secret bar on the GTR. See below. If only sumone had made the same version of this but for the Gt-t.

I will have a search for the GTR & Impul one from East Bear, not sure wot they look like.

I also saw a 34 VSpec with a 400R kit the other day, looked bomb... Why do they have all the sic kits for GTR's but so few for the Gt-t's..... :nyaanyaa:

Blitz had a look on Just Jap, no kits available there for R34.

im guessing the japs dont bother with the GTT because the GTR is this shizzle mynizzle.

where there is a market, there is money :)

theres a few out there...

Thomas (shonen) has a kit forsale for the GTT.... he also has alot of other "ricey" things forsale for the GTT aswell i think ;) ;) :ninja:

Sumone else made a suggestion, get a front bar that is similar to wot u want n get a frp place to modify it to look like a Top Secret bar. Anyone done this before and got a rough clue how expensive it is for custom front bars?

im guessing anything thats custom and related to fibreglass will be fairly manually intensive and hence expensive? unless you get some kind of deal with whoever's going to do it for you!

Thanks frank, the Impul is not really my taste. I like the massive hole for the FMIC that the Top Secret bar has & simple hole/slot at the sides for cold air intake.

Cheers anyway.

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
