Well what a tops day!!! Fantastic turnout of cars and a great way to get together and test out our cars power. Huge thanx to Ray and his crew at RE Customs for letting us hold the event at his workshop and pushing over time to get everyone onto the dyno for a run.. Greatly appreciated.

Also a huge thanx to all that came down was an awesome turnout and was great to see some new faces around about 12 new members signed up with some renewals as well..

Over all we got 40 cars onto the Dyno, some making more power than expected and some making a little less :P

Congratulations to all those who won prizes, which were kindly donated by Carsales for the day:

* Guess the KW - Nikki (babia) won a Meguiars car care pack, a Carsales bottle of wine and the latest issue of Unique cars, with a guess of 88.5kw, when Scott's Low 300C made a whopping 89.7kw.

* Most power - Lim in the cheater evo won a years subscription to Unique Cars, a Carsales bottle of wine and the latest edition of Unique Cars.

* Lowest power - Mark in the 180B dato won a Meguiars car care pack, a Carsales bottle of wine and the latest issue of Unique cars.

* Lucky Dyno Draw - Lowthy won a years subscription to Unique Cars, a Carsales bottle of wine and the latest edition of Unique Cars.

seems like a good day, i got a call at 10am friday saying my wolf had a faulty something that kept on shutting down the car on the dyno once it hit load :\ hopefully i can sometime get the car running once a sau event is on.. still remember adz reaction when i told him i destroyed 3 sets of stickers trying to put them on my car :P

Great day Im happy to be signed up as a new member.. Thanks to Matt for organising and the rest of the skylines vic crew I really enjoyed myself and will be getting the car on the road with some plates ASAP..I missed out on a run cause I had to boot but must say there were some beautiful cars there and I got some great ideas for my 33...

I must say you guys are heaps friendly, just ebing able to talk to you guys about all this stuff was awesome..Ive noticed in a few other clubs im part off people tend to just stand in groups of mates or whetevr and theres no interaction... So thanks :P

Thanks to everyone who attended the day and helped organising. Special thanks to Chris (Scotsman) and Scott (Chrisman) for running the BBQ.

We had a nearly a 100 people throughout the day which was a fantastic turnout and had a fantastic number of new member signups and renewals.

It really shows up club is starting to grow to a massive size and we have all the members to thank for this.

Throughout the day we dynoed over 40 cars which is a big effort for everyone.

Special thanks to RE Customs for having us on the day and providing the bbq, dyno and club facilities.

Ace turnout and a great day all round, was great to see lots of new faces signing up.

Lowthy/Nikki - I have your prizes. PM me and we can work out a way to get them to you.

Thanks heaps to Ray and the RE Customs crew for having us all day.

The evo FQ400 was pretty impressive, the thing would just ramp from like 90rwkw to 300kw in the space of a few hundred rpm.

I think from memory it was making 90rwkw ish at around 2900rpm then at 3300rpm it would just ramp to 300kw. nobbad :P

thankx every one. i had a good time to and still cannot believe the difference between the stock E9 and my car (it is stock i promise), checking up and afew other MRs are running similar boost to me. thankx to ppl at RE, and Mav for organising the day. and looks like i missed the best part of the day :P go evo power

G'day Guys,

Seems my car is running a fair bit less boost than it's meant to be - so I'll get that sorted out quick smart! :P Strange considering it's stock!

Re: the prize - Excellent! Bec - I'll shoot you a PM re: picking it up.

Thanks for organising the day guys!

PS - That white Evo was awesome! :)

    • Assuming the current ECU is stock, it might be worth getting hold of a nissan data scan cable. It could be as simple as voltage at the ECU
    • You need to test for spark when it matters - ie cranking. Kill the fuel supply, pull a plug and earth it, set up a camera and go crank. The spark needs to be consistent, every other turn of the engine. Not some sputtering of occasional spark. The reason I say this is because spinning the CAS in the air is not the same as spinning it installed, and if there is a bearing problem in it, the disk might work differently in the air than in the engine. You won't want to try to set the timing unless you know the spark is happening right.  Also, reconsider running the R35 coils against the stock ECU. They like a different amount of dwell cf the originals. It's not massive, you can actually run them, but it is better if you can adjust the dwell (which you can with Nistune in the stocker, or with an aftermarket ECU). Besides any of that - when you had the multimeter out, have you got power where it needs to be, earth where it needs to be (and when, in the case of igniter triggers), etc?
    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice. Thanks  Looking at this plenum for now below
