nah, he's just trying all these excuses to make me buy anything other then a skyline, think I've worn him down, just had a call from him, he's still gonna shout me $3k of the cost as a 21st birthday pressy + next xmas or something, until I actually have it, I think he'll still try and reason with me to change but I haven't budged yet.

i think in this day an age... i personally would buy something other than a skyline. not to discourage you, but it really depends on what you want to do with it? track? cruise? drift? show? etc... from there you can decide.

my younger brother just bought his first car... cost the same as my skyline (back 4 years ago) - but is 8 years younger, more comfortable, effortless through the twisties, bucket seats, etc etc, ohh that's factory standard.. needless to say, i was the one that chose it for him, and i am madly jealous.

Im lost, whats this topic about???

My dad is back in town for the weekend and he has a 2001 Mustang SVT Cobra (plates are "STANG1") that sits in storage while he's overseas. It attracts a bit of attention around town. I've finally decided to start getting finances together to get a car and picked a nice Series 2 R33. He has over the past 5 days tried every day for at least an hour to get me to pick something else to buy. All the while we're looking around, people see the car and decide to squeal tyres or something past it, quite a few (not all though) being Skylines :stupid:.

I told him I'd post a thread about it, so here it is. Don't really seem to need to worry any more since he said he'll still pay a chunk, so just give a toot as you go past if you see him around, no need to be a dick about it :)

Yeah, I've already told him off for being a ford bogan, tomorrow is his last day in the country, so it'll be his last chance to try and get me to change my mind. Oh well. At least I should have a new car within a couple of weeks (this is taking too long :stupid:).

    • bumping this post as im still having dramas, my fuel pick up is sitting on the bottom of the tank, my pump gets a constant 13 volts through a relay, my fuel pressure holds consistently without fluttering or dropping, yet as soon as im near half a tank of fuel my car starts fuel starving and leaning out, it cant be due to g force as it never pulls hard enough before it starts breaking up, any help would be much appreciated
    • Just a thought, was that car and auto at any point of its life? If so, maybe whoever bridged the inhibitor switch/circuit did a not so good job.
    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
