thanks guys. :(

as kylie said, not sure how i feel at the moment, i was looking to sell it very shortly, but i didnt plan on getting rid of it this way.

would have been nice to see 3 years of hard work, time and money still being driven around, but i guess atleast no-one else can write it off instead. >_<

my neck feels better than i thought it would, still a bit sore though.

whether i get the option to buy the wreck back, and whether i even want to buy it back, im not sure yet.

chances are the next car wont be a 33, so i cant really salvage parts to keep, and im not sure whether i want to hassle of trying to strip it down and flog it off (that said, its only rear end damage, so there is a 2000km old engine and turbo sitting in there >_<)

yeah.. funny thing that.

the tyres on my good rims were getting a bit low, so i changed over to stock rims yesterday morning, thinking id get a yellow sticker or whatever...

had absolutely nothing to do with the crash though, i was stationary... and my rims werent covered by insurance due to them being a limited edition.. so there was a very small amount of luck on my side..

Mitchy and Kylie im so sorry to hear this is then end of arrh 33 :D that was a stunning R33, well looked after and looked fabulous :( What a shame to see all that hard work ruined but one complete wanker driver :(

Hope insurance goes well for you Mitchy :D take care

doesnt matter. it wasnt mitchys fault. mitchys insurance will cover it if need be then sue the other driver. mitchy wont lose his no claim bonus or pay excess

I was under the impression that you don't get the money until the insurance company gets the money from the person at fault. I got hit by an un-insured driver in my last car and it took ages to get the damage fixed. I could have had it fixed straight away if I payed my excess and then have it refunded when the other party pays up or something. The insurance company only spoke to my parents (I was under there policy) so I wasn't kept very well informed.

Mate - some advice if you don't mind. You MUST get to your GP and register that you have been in a motor vehicle accident. Even though your neck may not feel so bad now, it CAN come back to haunt you.

I wrote off my S15 a few years ago and walked away without probs (or so I thought). Pain didn't set in until 3 to 6 months later and I was still receiving physio (at my cost) up to a year later!

Hopefully you are indeed 100% OK - but better toi be safe than sorry.

Good luck and all the best

an uninsured and unlicensed driver hit the back of my 33 gtst then tried to leave the scene but i got him to hang around. my insurance got my car fixed for $6k then they sued the driver afterwards. I didnt lose my no claim bonus or pay excess. The rear of my cars paint was getting a bit worn anyway so it worked out ok.

cheers gav, that was the first thing i did after the accident yesterday.

went to hospital and was put in a neck brace for 2 hours (as it was over 60km/h), got some xrays, pain killers, and anti-inflamatories.

got a call this morning saying that there may be a small bone fragment off one of the 7 vertibrae's in my neck, going to get my xrays done to see whether thats the case, or just an artefact on the xray, as it surprisingly feels alright considering what happened.

You've got a possible fracture? Oh fug, dosn't sound good, i hope everything turns out fine mate.

Yeah at least luck is on your side with the rims part, in some weird sense, but hey, it might just work out for the best in the end, esp with the R33 market being so saturated, and pple trying to sell having a bitch of a time doing so. But then, with all the love, sweat, tears and blood put into the car, it also is pretty sad to see it go i guess... anyway, at least your precious rims are fine! :O

P/s: I want parts off your car!! >_< Yeah that's right... I'm one of those mofo bitches!!! :P

    • Hey everyone, I recently bought myself a 2001 Nissan Stegea M35, and I've had a few issues that I had to fix, my car would start intermittently and I had a bad rocker cover leak, after a couple days of looking I finally found a part number that interchanges with the OEM starter as the OEM starters at $1300 and I can't afford that, this starter was only $270 and I replaced the start and still had the same issues, I posted a video asking for help online and it went very well, some guy said it was probably a bad ignition switch so I took my dash apart and turns out my ignition switch was half screwed in and was loose, once it was tightened it fired right up, I found a local place called "Boost factory" and they sold me a part of OEM Nissan rocker covers, they were $600 which was a shocker but I couldn't find them anywhere else, so I installed them and fixed my oil leak as the old rocker cover was cracked and warped, I now need to replace my boost air inlet hoses as they have some cracks.
    • I am being real ocd and do not want to make amy mistakes so appreciate all help provided. I am overly cautious so asking for opinion even if i know the answer   few questions,   1.re tensioner, should spring be greased lightly?    2.tensioner has two washers , one pressure washer and other has recessed/ seat. I am going to put the recessed one facing tensioner where edges are cut out and pressure washer on top   3. my car has custom triger kit sold few years ago by guy who initially built the engine. I moved the crank gear and it moved in and out easy, only way to remove belt is to slide the crankshaft gear forward which I did. I have seen these being very tough to move , anything to do with my woodruff key?   it has a crank sensor shown in purple which I assume reads from the 12 teeth position mounted to the crankcase gear   4. timing belt doesn’t have arrow stating front or back just a arrow which I think is direction of rotation . Do you agree?   5.i figured out why my crankcase cover was worn as there was no washer installed over the crankcase cover before the harmonic balancer was put in place. It is missing, anyone knows the part number? It looks like this https://justjap.com/products/genuine-nissan-crankshaft-timing-gear-rear-plate-washer-nissan-s13-ca18-a31-r32-rb20-r33-r34-c33-c34-c35-rb25?currency=USD   https://tinypic.host/image/IMG-4535.382Zy2 https://tinypic.host/image/IMG-4537.382dSz https://tinypic.host/image/IMG-4534.382q4U
    • CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) has existed since the 80's. I'm looking into buying a Hummer H1 and they generally included it.
    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
