ummm helloooo...which rock have you been hiding under....speed limiters are piss easy to remove nowadays.

GUYS, cut the dude some slack... I mean, yeah, he was stupid, idiotic etc... but hey, he's done what he has done... give him some support...

Like I had said before ... you will be charged, fined and probably (most likely I must say) imprisoned for a few months... but you will have to be strong and stand up and take it up the arse...

Having said that, shyte happens... just think of it as a very very expensive lesson...

From what I have heard from other friends in similiar circumstances... mostly likely they will impound your car... I would sell it if I were you...

I would say you're looking at some jail time, and you'd be CRAZY not to get a lawyer. If you're VERY lucky, you may get away with some community service, but I doubt it.

Why would we support some idiot who endangers other peoples lives? :) I think he should do some time because obviously they have been far too lenient before and he didn't learn. Maybe his room mate 'Bubba' might make him think twice afterwards. :(:)

Hopefully Habib, you WILL learn from this. If you drive again without a license or like a maniak, I assure you you will either spend a LOT longer in gaol or may be killed or worse kill someone else.

None of us have the right to judge him? I disagree.

When this stuff happens it reflects badly on us all.

On this forum, we hear of people constantly saying they are being victimised for choosing to drive a skyline... that insurance is higher, especially for younger drivers... that cops go over the car with a fine toothed comb based solely on ethnicity.... this is a classic example of why this happens...

I seriously hope it's someone taking the piss in a late april fools joke.

To argue against the people of this forum judging a person by his actions is to condone those actions... to do nothing is much worse.

Personally, I'd say get rid of the car. You cannot handle it. End of story.

You tried kid, but your overwhelming desire to prove your manhood by battling off some bogan in an SS shows that you're not yet ready for anything beyond a ford fiesta.

If you could prove that it was still limited to 180 and it was an acurate limit then you might be able to question the accuracy of the radar. Just a thought.

speed limiter can be taken off with just cutting one wire i believe....but it also comes down to how accurate the speedo and the radar are.....

What's a solicitor going to do??? Try to prove he wasn't speeding??? If he was dragging someone he's gone, no one in the world (EVEN the judge) can do anything about it, he broke the law for no reason, and they will get him.

I've noticed that a lot of guys have just been flaming you, and knocking you, when i'm sure you already feel like shit, and don't need to be punched in the face while you're already on the ground. You're young, and may not have gotten over that speedy phase yet.

Anyways, even where you are wrong, a solicitor/barrister can always help you immensley. The issue is with our court system (not a bad thing, because that's where i'll be making my money) is for the lay person, it is heavily biased against you.

If you try and represent yourself, you won't know what to do etc.

The DPP is a lawyer, so in a situation that it would be touch and go, he'd win.

As a lay person, it is simply very difficult, if not impossible to know everything you need to know. e.g. what about if the DPP attempts to bring in hearsay evidence etc, will you challenge him citing provisions of the Evidence act 1995?

or say if the DPP is attempting to prove the elements of your offence, are you able to identify the relevant section of the crimes act/other legislation etc.

Get a good lawyer. he'd be able to advise you about what to do etc, and represnt you.

I have had a friend in a similar situation, and the lawyer costed him $800 for the day. that's very cheap.

try telling him that if he hurt one of your family members in the process. im sure your point of view will change dramatically.

fair enough everyone has had their 'speedy' phase. but do u seriously need to go 187km to show your faster?

the commodore ss that raced you is another idiot.......how hard would it be for him to just ignore the car beside him thats instigating a race.

i was challenged by a blue xr6 ute (i think it was) to a drag race down near endevour hills - just told the guy politely that i wasnt interested. He was cool with it,but still stepped on it when the lights turned green.

Always easy to say no to these kinda things....

      Car has been running great, I've put about 300km's of break in time on it. First thing that stands out with properly sealing rings is no more noticeable crankcase smell coming out of my catch can. This may seem insignificant, but the constant smell while driving around was infuriating. It's also nice to see my oil level remain stable. Two new issues have developed that I only noticed this weekend though. There's a very noticeable driveline vibration past 100kmh. I only noticed it now as I've been babying it under 100kmh in the backroads. This comes as no surprise as I'm running a one-piece shaft, and I paid zero attention to my driveshaft angle when I put everything back in. I also have a fair bit of voltage drop on hot starts. The starter audibly is forcing. No issues on cold start though. I must not have removed all the paint under my main block ground during assembly. I'll try and take care of both those issues this week once the kids are asleep.  I also received all the parts I was missing for my direct port setup. I will hopefully have pictures of that up soon. I'm hoping to get back on the dyno the week of June 30th as I'll be on vacation. I'm confident I should be able to make north of 500rwkw on pump gas and WMI. I'll go back again later this summer with E98, but I want to confirm my ethanol content sensor is working properly first. I've never seen it read anything but 11%. This makes sense for our 10% ethanol content pump gas here, but I would expect the occasional movement between fill ups.

      75% complete. Will now need to get a new axle with 5x114.3 hubs and then figure out how to customize some mudguards for it once the wheels are on.

      Trailer prep is underway... Lined up the wheel to get a rough indication of how it would sit Then removed all the bits (as far as possible) and gave the frame a light sand and quick lick of paint   Then added some carpet

      okay, so I figured this out, removed needles and reinstalled after swapping the gauge face on my triple gauge for my ER34, all work and look good. I tried to do the same for the main cluster, but the main cluster gauge faces are dished, the replacement gauge face are flat, so due to the dish in the org face ,mounting backing plate (clear) and depth of the needle, the flat gauge face will not work. I notice that R34 gtr gauges are flat, appears to be different clear backing plate that aren't dished. are these available, or what have others done to install flat gauge faces?
