Hi guys I recently purchased a oil cooler kit from xxxxx, wanting a 19 row cooler for my R33.

It finally arrives and it's a 10 row cooler. How much worse is this going to be for my car? Can I still use it? It'd take ages to send back to Japan and recieve a new one that is 19 row. The car is a series 1 GTS-T running a garret 3071R and all supporting mods. Any insights on this problem would be great thanks guys.

Cheers Steve

It depends on your car, your engine setup, how often you punish/trackday your car etc.

I use a Trust 10 row kit on my GTR producing 500awhp and its fine.

Steve,

Any price difference or is it the same?

How much all together delivered?

I need one!

But I'll be using standard turbo - I just dont want to punish the car too much at the track

Blitz, thanks mate for the info, that's what I needed to know, I've actually gone and decided to get just the oil cooler core from justjap in 19 row for $100 and just cut my losses on the other one, so if you want a spare... :)

Chris, pm me and I'll tell you who NOT to buy it from incase it happens to you as well, ordering the right one and receiving something smaller LOL. To answer your question a oil cooler and filter relocation kit cost me $380 delivered.

Unless you are doing the work yourself the pricy part of an oil cooler is getting it installed. I'm running a 19 row from Just Jap and it cost a fair bit to get it put in. Awesome job and I'll post up pics in the DIY thread.

I'm running a stock (GTR) oil pump and had it out on the track for the first time Wed. It oil temp was barely over street driving levels.

if the cooler you have now is the trust one, i personally would not be swapping it for a just jap one. either just use your 10row one, or ask for the 19row to be sent and send the 10row back.

The cooler I have now is not a Trust one as far as I know, it's a universal one from a well known trader on here(not slide)

We are doing the installation ourselves and so I'm not worried about costs in that regard, so yeah I might just buy a universal 19 row core. Thanks for all the info and suggestions guys.

Hi Steve,

Id like to apologise for the mix-up with your order and any inconvenience caused.

We accidently sent you the 11 row cooler by mistake and I have aranged for a 19 row cooler to be sent to you.

You should have it within the next few days.

I have sent you a PM with further details.

Regards,

Paul.

Hey guys.. sorry for veering the discussion a bit off topic but i was after a bit of help. the picture above shows what i have sitting in the garage ready to go into a r32 gts-t running a 2871r w/ upgraded fuel pump and necessary mods..

I was under the impression that when relocating your oil filter you needed a sandwich place as well as a relocation plate (which your oil filter will eventually plug into). I have been provided with the sandwich plate.. now is this just a spacer which allows for sender units and braided hoses (pictured above) to be installed? essentially keeping the oil filter in the same location (give or take 15mm)..? or am i missing a chunk of metal?

sorry if the question sounds stupid but I am a noobie..

cheers, tushar

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
