is that a 30 bottom end?

also who did the porting job?

Noel, how long have you had your car for? 3-4 Months? just wondering as a new engine isn't a common skyline mod in such a short period of ownership, if you know what I mean.

Its a 25 bottom end mate. crack tested rods and crank, peened, cryoed blueprinted and balanced. Forged gikens.

Porting was done by japanese motor sport in Adelaide. Combustion chambers were modified by some dude from the Adelaide tech college. Must be proud of his work as he signed his name in the head. The head flowed a pupported 920 hp on the bench.

Selecting cams for this engine is going to require some careful thought.

As for why after only 3 months. Dude its been 25 bloody years, not 3 months. I ran wild bent 8 street cars in my younger days and only gave it away to get married and do the kid thing. I bought this engine as a built concern with 4000 kays on board. Subsequent stripping of the engine has revealed all that the builder claimed. Its a gem.

I didnt particularly want to tear down my own engine as it is in absolutely top notch condition. Why destroy a perfectly good engine. It will have a new home in an r32 sometime soon.

any reason why still staying with 2.5ltr capacity? :)

Coz 3L = SHIT!

He'll have all the torque he needs with porting and careful cam selection, combined with correct turbo choice. Plus the RB25 will rev higher and more reliably.

Plus the RB25 has better technology incorporated into it's block design.

hypothetically speaking, what if he put that head on a properly built & strengthened rb30? it'd surely have to make more torque? :)

yes, but it's alot more money than following what has been proven to work to achieve similar results.

whats different betwwen either? only difference i see would be enlarging the oil galleries in the rb30 to spin it to 8k

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
