I was driving back in my Skyer from hiring the new matrix game on PS2 from the local video store when a marked copper in front of me pulled to the side, let me pass, then pulled out and followed me up the road a bit, the lights then flashed and i preceeded to pull over thinking, what the **** did i do?

The cop rocks up to my window

(R = Myself P = Young coppa)

R = whats the problem officer

P = i saw some blue lights on your car. whats the story with that

R = what blue lights? Mate the only blue lights i can see is your ****ing siren and the poofter bar down the road

The young bloke then proceeds to point out the small reflectors on my front side panel and claims theyre an aftermarket lighting kit, and its illegal and he can defect me ect ect

P = Im still convinced theres blue lights installed

R = what blue lights? Mate the only blue lights i can see is your ****ing siren and the poofter bar down the road

He then goes round the car and pushes on the reflectors and then looks in the car at the light switches trying to turn these mysterious blue lights on

He then accepts defeat on that one, so out comes the mag light again doing a full inspection of anything he can see

P = What model is this?

P = Is it turbo?

R = No

P = Does it have a blow off valve?

R = Its not turbo mate...

Then does another round of the car and notices the fog lamps on and gives me a warning about driving with them on, threatens me with a $35 fine, which i told him would be a waste of time and paper issueing me with. Then asks me for my liscence, asks if the car is complied and then asks me if ive had anything to drink and then gets me on the blower,

Seriously, they must be desperate for money and funding these days, did the gst affect the price of KFC that much?

abso****inglutely.

Plus, although the cop was an idiot you were giving him attitude. Any smarter cop would have gone over your car with a fine tooth comb and a defect pad and then you'd have whinged harder.

So bear that in mind, if you give a cop shit and you get some in return don't expect sympathy. I agree he's harrassing you and probably deserved it (except about the fog lights, he's dead right about that) but you are doing all the right things to rub a cop up the wrong way and come off a lot worse for your trouble.

Don't take it as a personal attack, I see your point of view but I've also seen how this sort of thing turns into "cops are assholes and defect me for no reason" (when I called them cops and insinuated that their mother was a whore - is the part that people never mention)

poor guy... least ya didnt get done for anything..

I was always worried about getting picked on, I had my gts-t for 2 years and was never pulled over once. Guess it was just my luck *touch wood*,

They can't pick on me no more, now driving a stock Integra Type-R, they can keep tryin to find a defect, they won't, call it rice or not but it sure can't be defected :D

I didnt give him attitude till he started just being a ****wit and trying to get me for anything, and i cant exactly describe his tone of voice, i was pretty pissed, felt like lodging a complaint but i can imagine how far that will go, no where.

He was really looking over the car before i gave him attitude, just pissed me off cause i wasnt doing anything wrong, just driving a import.

I dont exactly see XR6's or shit like that gettin pulled over and inspected to the shithouse

I did leave out the parts where he was aking me all this crap bout steering, suspension and all. he was desperate for a big find

mate of mine got defected in VIC for stock springs. Cops reasoning was cause he pulled into the driveway going a little sideways to avoid it scratching his sideskirt, thus it's too low. That means all 200sx on the road are defective from factory.... :)

Actually, I was talking to a cop about that, apparently the guideline is based on car from factory meeting ADRS, but there are lots of things that can happen, even to a stock car, to make it not comply, eg perished windscreen wipers, brake pads too low, broken/blown lights, bald tyres etc etc. pretty easy for them to catch you if they really want to.

Whats more, they don't have to be right, they just send you to RTA inspection - guilty until proven innocent.

Most likely a General Duties fella with nothing really to do.

Whether its the police or any other person, boredom normally makes for trouble.

I got breathalised the other night, i admitted to having drunk 4 beers. Asked the usual Qs like when was the 1st, last etc, etc.

The guy talking to me was cool, his partner looking at my DJ-01s on the rear pointed them out to his partner. They chuckled about the meaty nature of the rubber, then said "your right mate, change the radio station and you can be on your way"

Obviously they didnt like John Seccada "Make it through the day without you" Bunch of savages in the NSW Police Service :P

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
