Hi guys,

I am debating selling me S1.5 R33. I've lost my licence for awhile and I'm going to Japan in November, so I'm pretty strapped for cash at the moment. Problem is, I don't want to let it go cheap just to get rid of it, but not following the car market I need some help with what I could realisticly get for it, the car has the following mods:

Engine:

Natetune Front Mount Intercooler kit

K & N podfilter

Splitfire Coil Packs

Boost controller

Blitz 'Style' blowoff valve

Dump pipe

Super High-Flow Cat

3" Inch exhaust

Cold Air Induction

HKS fcon piggyback computer

Button Clutch

Suspension/Handling:

Tanabe coilovers

Natetune caster rods

HICAS lock bar

Tein tie rods

Natetune tie rod spacers

Body:

Full car respray

Trust front bar (Cracked)

400R side skirts

Explosive rear bar

GTR rear wing

Really dark tints

17" Work Equip Rims, running 235/45s at front, and 255/40s at rear.

In Car:

Moulded Gauge Holder above centre console - housing Boost, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp

Kenwood head unit (CD / MP3 / Radio)

Nismo Gear Knob, standard supplied too.

Aftermarket steering wheel, standard supplied too

Drivers side bucket seat fitted, standard supplied too

Passenger side standard seat fitted, matching bucket seat supplied

Car is done up for Touge, not cruising so no sub / amp / chromies etc.

All modifications done by myself. Approx 125 xxx on the clock. Rego until late October.

Engine is in great condition, slight injector noise (need to be cleaned), runs 9 psi.

Thanks for the help guys, I will do some research on car sales later.

I don't have any pictures to upload at the moment, but paintwork is about 6 months old, only scratched on the front bar. And the interior has been fixed up within the last 2 months as well (to look almost brand new again).

id say 14 in current market

Well this depends on a few things though Paint colour and how well the work was carried out on this.

The interior and how this is represented. I think 14k would be a price which is the min but realistic I would see 16k+ especially with the amount of work carried out on this

true....

but Ive got similar mods and such, less kms - just dont have a kit or the rims and Id be lucky to get 12k - the market has really taken a massive blow :D I see it every day :)

s1 12k-14k

s2 12k-16k

Think about it, you have to compete with the wound back odo "fresh import" thing.... the fact they are second hand cars seems to be washed away somehow ? I dont understand this logic ? Most will know they are wound back, most will want to retain some resale value, and after seeing over $100 on the clock = less 6k-8k (when compared to wanker dealerships asking 18-20k), it makes for an interesting market. 33's getting into the i can get a loan for it bracket make it popular as its pretty much the best car for the money around aus (taste depending).

ps I own a series 2 33, I bought mine bit under 2years ago now for 17k. I got mine stock with active diff and every optional extra except the sunroof. still love her and only wish I didnt have to spend my money in so many places so I could get her to where I am happy with it.... so yea... I understand the reality as well as still love her eh?

skyline market is FU*Ked now, i have a 250rwkw ser1 with around 15k spent on it, has almost every mod apart from bottom end stuff, rare and hott blitz bodykit, 90,000k'ms even a sunroof and is as clean as they come, only brand names used, and im finding it hard to get even 16k :( x10000

Edited by scarface

they have restrictions on skylines , any raw can only ever import 100 per year

market dictates prices , people want skylines , people buy skylines , companies import skylines .

mods never ever add much value to your car and never had its not, unless they are extremely expensive like 20k engines or body work

this car in question is work 16-18k private depending on how quick you need the sale and what condition it is really in

and believe it or not you can still get genuine sub 100k r33s in japan , just lots of people will not pay the prices needed to get them

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
