Ferni...I remember from the last round and the vid that jack posted up that he had his IR receiver on the passenger side door which would suggest that the transmitter is on the other side.

You would've got your lap timer by now so you might be able to clarify this but all you need for the transmitter is a power source right? Either way I have no option but to have it on the drivers side due to the cable length.

Yeah, snowy is going to extend them... It didn't even occur to me they would be for bikes, i bet if we told them it was for a car we would of got the longer one.. o well i'm sure snowy will figure it out, working for a cable and wire company and all :O

As for the transmitter, yeah just 8 AA batteries inside, or 12v external powersource from somewhere... not sure what they usually use? Would AA batteries last all day? I guess so.

Shit, i need tyres, brake pads and need to do something about the gearbox spewing out fluid at high speed. Shocks are still sitting on the docks of Kobe >_<

So this will be the last time i drive the car with the Bislteins for a while. With new tyres and pads i may wind the boost up and see how low into the 1:22s i can go. There is a 1:21 in it but i dont know if i can put that good a lap together without ironing out the suspension better. But i have been watching my vids carefully and know i am losing time when i spin off and hit walls

HAAAAA ! :laughing-smiley-014: Gold dude, GOLD ! I think I nearly pooped my pants laughing just then, at least You've got a sense'O humour about it eh?

WHY would people go and schedule motorsports events on the long weekend? Don't they know I've got an engagement party, and mates-back-up-home reunion thing happening ? ? I wanted to go car-whore at Phillip Island for the Vic champs too, Gee-Gosh I like those sports sedans! >_<

Have fun guys, I'm out.. >_<

I haven't taken time off for almost 3 years so I'm going away for the weekend...

Looks like Aaron will take this one, unless Snowy or Scotsman pull something out of the hat!!!!

Troy, don't push for that 1:21, it may be out of reach for the time being...

If i front the 2.5k for tyres, pads and fuel....i will be trying my little heart out. I will be happy with a few laps in the 1:22s, but i need just one lap where i get into the 21s. If i grab 3rd through turn 1. 4th up to Dandenong. And use max revs i think the car can do it >_< Its just that the car is a drift machine when i use those gears...hopefully there may be a little truth to the poor rear grip and gearbox fluid thing and i may find some of the lost grip????

Not having a serious go at you Hardman but that's the softest excuse for not attending a motorsport day I have ever heard.

There are only 2 excuses accepted by your peers and they are:

1. My car is broken.

2. I have to attend my own funeral.

Soft.

As for scheduling over a long weekend, we take what we can get.

Haha, gotta pay that.. . . it's totally Valid!

My car is broken though. (will be going wednesday I hope, shall report on stainless exhaust manifold's usefulness)

How's the Commondore trukin' on Budge? I've got a VH awaiting V6 transplant completion in the backyard.. . . :/

Awesome Snowie....if you can do mine at the same time that would be great....just let me know when and where :/

Ferni....I didn't have a close look....if thats the case why can't we set one up on the drivers side of the circuit and just run the IR receiver to point through the drivers side window?

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
