MacoStar
Hi guys, I have an R32 GTST. Seem to be having issues with my alternator and it not charging. Replaced the battery already, took the alternator out and changed the brushes thinking it might be them, but to no avail. Was wondering anyone know where the voltage regulator sits on an RB20? Or better yet any suggestions on this matter. Just wanna look at all options before taking it to an Auto Electrician. Cheers, Tone Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/170477-power-failure-car-not-charging/ Share on other sites
R33GTS25
change the alternator, costs more to fix than replace, so out with the old in with the new. blind_elk
Regulator is built into the alternator. But probably just as cheap to replace outright than try and diagnose and fix. As stated above its built in and they are worth more than getting another 2nd/new item. Tone did you have the alternator bench tested whilst it was out to make sure it was charging ok??? This is Tony, my details through my home account aren't working at the moment. To answer your question, no I didn't have the alternator bench tested, however i've just purchased another 2nd hand alternator for $60. Will put it in on the weekend and see how that goes. Thanks for all your help guys. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/170477-power-failure-car-not-charging/#findComment-3150877 Share on other sites
