I am planning on fitting GTR injectors to my 32 GTST but am having trouble chasing up a ballast resistor. I have heard before of homemade devices being made, consisting simply of 6x10ohm resistors. Has anyone done this or does anyone have any information? Also at what power level do std RB20 injectors need replacing? I have heard stories mentioning anywhere from 170-250 rwkw. I do not want to do them unnecessarily at this stage. I am aiming for 200kw

All you need to do is buys 6 high quality ceramic 7-10 ohm resisters from farnell and solder them in series with the injector driver outputs on the ecu loom. I did this for both my brother r32 and my r32 and neither have had issues.

I soldered the resistors just past the ecu plug in the cabin. Works a treat. Farnell resistors they are alot smaller than the jaycar ceramic ones so installation is easer and neater.

I'll look up the part number tonight and post it then.

Not actually in any mad rush now. Was planning to fit injectors before next tune but due to overspending on other items its not going to happen now. Aiming for about 200rwkw & a lot of people seem to be making that on stock injectors pretty easily... Like to keep things on the safe side but so will definitely keep it in mind.

im making 191rwkw, and have only upped my fuel pressure from 38psi to 50psi. i have seen the option 1 garage drift car make 228rwkw on standard injectors

only?? that means at 16 psi, you are running 77psi of fuel pressure, hope you have a good pump

Ive done the resistor mod, they are smalll small resistors that you solder into the line just before the injector, been running it for a while now with a drift day included and havent had one problem, simply threw them onto the common wire (white with black stripe), roy does a DIY on this forum....

You may aswell upgrade to gtr items now if your planning big mods down the track

$25 delivered VS $170 2nd hand is a big improvement

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
